Over the years we are told this building is the most painted building in the world. It appears on cards, calendars, paintings and prints of all kinds. It is the image of what you expect to see in this area. It sits on the docks in an area in Rockport. As you stroll the small shops around you can walk... More

Yes, it's worth a trip to see this iconic New England landmark. Even on a wintery, cold and blustery day, the view was lovely. So much to see and photograph from the surrounding area. Go there and take your camera!

When I had a gallery on the Neck people would always ask me where the "little red barn" was. They had passed right by it thinking is was to be larger and more of a landmark than it is. At one time it was the most photographed building on this planet....those days remain in the past. It is a nice... More

Technically speaking this is Motif Number 2 Motif Number 1 was destroyed during the blizzard of 1978 according to the sign on the building. Other than being a great place for a photo shoot or a painting there is nothing to do there. If you are in the area taking photos is a must.

This is considered Motif #3 by locals; the Motif #1 had burned and #2 lost to a New England Storm... It is a New England Icon and has been painted and photographed by thousands around the world.. It did not disappoint the afternoon I was there and remember visiting it in the 60's with my family.. If you go, remember... More
