Let me start by saying this is only in regards to the fishing trips. Also the only reason I gave two stars instead of one was because I had a pretty good time regardless of everything that happened because the group I went with can have a good time no matter what. I have no idea how the whale watches... More

This was a relaxing but rather long boat ride (a bit more than an hour) out to the whale sanctuary. I mention the time because I think those with very small children should consider this when planning this activity. There were several toddler/preschoolers on the boat and they didn't seem interested in seeing whales by the time we got to... More

We had the VERY BEST Whale watch ever. Whales breaching, tail flapping, and flipper flapping as well as other unusual activities. I'd list this as a "must see".

It's easy to give a 5 star review when in truth you have nothing to compare it with - this was, after all, our first ever whale watching cruise. It's even easier when you've been treated to a great display by these mighty animals. None the less I feel Captain John boats more than earned such applauds. The boat was... More

staff was great at accompanying all guest. The trip out was long...so bring something to do unless you like looking at water. Was windy so waters were rough and was fun until my stomach had had enough. The sighting of the whales was worth everything you go through to get to them....what a truly amazing time....something one will never forget.... More

Great Groupon Deal! The cruise was very enjoyable. Food prices on the cruise were very reasonable. We saw several whales during our cruise. It was a chilly ride so I would definitely recommend bringing a jacket, no matter how hot it is while you are waiting to board.

Went on the early tour with my wife. At first it was foggy but after a while the sun broke through the clouds. Then the humpback whales began to surface, usually in pairs. What a sight to behold - water spraying from their spouts, bodies gliding slowly through the water, tails majestically waving before disappearing into the ocean. The crew... More

This was our first time whale watching . The weather was great and the whales did not disappoint us. Our captain ensured both sides of the boat had equal time seeing the whales and Leah was very knowledgeable as well. I do suggest not parking at meters as they do not hesitate giving tickets. There is parking adjacent to the... More

My husband and I had an amazing experience on a cruise with Captain John Boats. We were very lucky that day because there were less than 70 people on the boat the afternoon we went, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. The sea was fairly calm and the captain quickly brought us to a spot where we... More

We had the best time and of course we saw whales!!, Tammy was the biologist on board and she was very knowledgeable, pleasant and while we were coming back she answered questions that people had. The rest of the crew was very nice also. The boat was clean, we totally recommend Capitan John Boats for your whale watching adventure!!
