Beautiful fast boat with a great staff, especially our naturalist Krill. Had a fun time, waves were big that day but an experienced captain did a great job piloting us through safely. Whales were plentiful and some were active. If we go on a whale watch again we will definitely choose Capt John boats.....A++++

We just picked Captain John whale watching tours after a quick google search and were pleasantly surprised to find knowledgeable staff and crew. Boat is spacious and clean.

We have been going on whale watches with Captain John boats for many years and we see and learn new things each time. "Krill" is extremely knowledgable and friendly-we love having her as our naturalist!

Thoroughly professional tour operation. Smooth fast boat with a good crew and excellent naturalist who patiently answered questions and explained all we needed to know about the whales on view. The boat is wide and is very stable even in ocean swells. The captain manouevred the very well-maintained vessel swiftly to get the best views possible. Before we left harbour... More

My grandchildren were recently visiting from out of state and I decided that a whale watch was in order. Along with the 7 year old twins, I took my other grandson 4 years old who lives in Massachusetts and loves the ocean . We saw so many whales that I was truly amazed. And the kids loved every moment of... More

There is never a guarantee that you will have a sighting but we were lucky to have a wonderful sighting of multiple whales. The naturalist on board was wonderful! She kept us informed of where the whales were and which whales were which. It was so amazing! I highly suggest you make time for this tour. Hint: Bring a jacket...... More

I have never posted on trip advisor before but I have been going on whale watches for many years. I have always chosen Captain John Boats over Ptown boats because ether have always done such a great job around the whales. On this last trip I was concerned about how the captain drove on the whales. He was driving very... More

A great way to get out on the water! We saw 8 different whales and the on-board whale expert gave us continual information about the whales that we were seeing and what their behaviors meant. It was very warm on land, but cold out on the water - take jackets. And you're allowed to bring your own snacks and drinks... More

Awesome trip! Seeing whales is great. On board naturalist makes the trip. She was very informative without overwhelming us with info. I learned a lot. Only down side - several times the boat's captain seem to drive the boat quickly on to area of whale sittings (blows), ever though we were told that is against whale watching guidelines. A few... I can't say enough good things about the whale watch aboard Captain John Boats. Very informative and friendly crew. Tip: Take the Dramamine, even if you have never been seasick!
