Very informative and educational cruise. Staff are most accommodating especially to those who don't quite find their sea legs!

We went on the last day of the season and the trip didn't disappoint. The staff and the resident guide who was a marine biologist, were wonderful. We were told it was a bit choppy out of the protection of the harbour, and we were offered free sea sickness tablets. It was absolutely fine though, and we thoroughly enjoyed our... More

I went on a whale watching trip with my friends and it was an experience full of ups and downs. We saw a couple of humpback whales and caught glimpses of a minke whale, which was pretty cool. The naturalist was very knowledgeable and she could identify the whales immediately. She also brought some educational materials, like the baleen and... More

On what turned out to be the last trip of the season, we were warned by our host 'Krill' a marine biologist that the water out at sea was very rough and free motion sickness tablets were available! It turned out that we need not have worried, the weather was lovely and we hurried out to sea to the sandbank... More

Beautiful fast boat with a great staff, especially our naturalist Krill. Had a fun time, waves were big that day but an experienced captain did a great job piloting us through safely. Whales were plentiful and some were active. If we go on a whale watch again we will definitely choose Capt John boats.....A++++

We just picked Captain John whale watching tours after a quick google search and were pleasantly surprised to find knowledgeable staff and crew. Boat is spacious and clean.

We have been going on whale watches with Captain John boats for many years and we see and learn new things each time. "Krill" is extremely knowledgable and friendly-we love having her as our naturalist!

Thoroughly professional tour operation. Smooth fast boat with a good crew and excellent naturalist who patiently answered questions and explained all we needed to know about the whales on view. The boat is wide and is very stable even in ocean swells. The captain manouevred the very well-maintained vessel swiftly to get the best views possible. Before we left harbour... More

My grandchildren were recently visiting from out of state and I decided that a whale watch was in order. Along with the 7 year old twins, I took my other grandson 4 years old who lives in Massachusetts and loves the ocean . We saw so many whales that I was truly amazed. And the kids loved every moment of... More

There is never a guarantee that you will have a sighting but we were lucky to have a wonderful sighting of multiple whales. The naturalist on board was wonderful! She kept us informed of where the whales were and which whales were which. It was so amazing! I highly suggest you make time for this tour. Hint: Bring a jacket...... More
