I took the Captain John's whale watching trip and it was incredible. The Naturalist on the boat is a Marine Biologist and her passion for the whales and all the sea creatures was inspiring. She continuously travelled through the boat on the way to the whales to encourage questions and ensure everyone was comfortable. When we did reach the whales,... More

We had a wonderful time on this whale boat adventure! Krill, the naturalist, is amazing and very knowledgeable. She makes the 4 hour trip very interesting; she did 99% of the talking. We saw about a dozen whales (mostly mom's with their young) and what looked to be a small shark, confirmed by Krill. There were also a couple of... More

At the first area we saw 5 whale, then we went to another area. There were so many Krill said she had never seen so many in her 37 years doing this. We were so lucky!

The sea was like glass, the sun was shining and the temps were perfect. We headed out to go off Provincetown but when we got there there weren't any whales. The captain was on the phone and found they had headed North to feed, so we headed North. At the very Northern corner of Stellwagen Bank we found them. Wow... More

I had read reviews and should have taken heed. On Aug 26, 2014, we boarded one of the Captain's boats and set sail. About two hours out to sea, we saw 2 whales, and the distance between the whales and our boat was about 800 feet (or more). We observed boats which launched from Boston, as close to the whales... I have had the pleasure of taking two Whale Watch tours with Captain John one in June 4 p.m. and one on Sunday, August 31 9:00 a.m. - the staff is outstanding with their narration of the wild life and the seeking and spotting of whales. The boat is clean, bright, comfortable, and they offer Dramamene to take before you... More

We went in mid June and were treated to whales feeding. Appears this area is rich with food. Didn't have to boat out too far. The crew and Captain were very knowledgeable and showed respect for the animals. The Captain positioned us so the whales swam by as opposed to "chasing" them. Just a great time out. We went at... I really really enjoyed this. As long as you have realistic expectation of what you are going to see. We saw and followed within respectful distance two groups of humpbacks. A trio and a mother and calf. Do not expect these whales to preform, just be happy you can see these amazing creatures in their own surroundings and be grateful... More

My wife and I have gone on whale watches with capt. John boats the last two summers, with the most recent trip a couple weekends ago. We have always been treated to a couple dozen individual sightings of a couple different whales. I went on these watches as a kid myself and always had the same result back then too.... More

This was an experience of a lifetime! Other than Sea World, I had never seen a while up close and in person. Following this trip, that changed. I lost count as to how many whales we saw, but there were quite a few. On one occasion, a whale leaped out of the water approximately 200 yards in front of the... More
