I have always wanted to see Les Miserables but never got the chance so I saw an ad in the local Cape Cod Times for a performance at the Academy of Performing Arts in Orleans that had been extended another week due to popular demand. The write up sounded awesome and I had been there before to see other performances... More

The cast was so talented, it could have been Broadway. We went on Sunday night and were so sad that the theatre wasn't full. There are no bad seats. We also saw Caberet there in June and loved it, but the voices in Les Miserables were even better. If you are in Orleans in the summer, don't miss this theatre... More

Old, Old building--but we have taken the kids here many times to see musicals--Like South Pacific, Guys and Dolls, The Producers; etc. SMall theater upstairs and since they put in air conditioning it is much more enjoyable. If you want to share the American Musical Theater with your kids this is a safe bet

Pleasantly surprised by the talented performers and the caliber of performances. A good choice for an evening out on Cape Cod. Performances are reasonably priced as this is a local endeavor.

We live across from this playhouse and really enjoy visiting from time to time. All the plays and actors are of professional quality and many and varied plays are presented. An acting and dancing academy is connected with this playhouse.

For many years under the leadership of Peter Earle, the Academy has produced well-directed favorites. Until the recent addition of air conditioning, it could be a sweatshop on a hot summer evening. Now you can see fine local actors, singers and dancers in perfect comfort. There are only 5 rows of seats around three sides of the stage, so there... More

it was very enjoyable. they actors were very good and the singing was amazing for their age. i come back year after year to see the same young adults perform. i think the dancing is ok, could be better. also our seats were moved a couple of times which was an annoyance. would recommend!

This past week we took two of our granddaughters to see Cinderella. They were thrilled! The show began with the fairy godmother coming out to talk and she invited anyone who wanted to be a princess for the day to come forward. Most of the little girls in the audience did so. Prince Charming then came out and spoke to... More

Why go to Boston and pay top dollar when we have a wonderful local theatre in Orleans. I have seen many shows there and they are always well done, maybe not with the glitz and glamour of broadway but with fine acting and a wonderful space to see shows. The theatre seating surrounds the stage on three sides and the... More

I live part of the year in Orleans, MA (Cape Cod) and was very impressed with the quality of two performances I saw during 2007 at the Academy of Performing Arts in Orleans: "Fiddler on the Roof"'and "Broadway to Hollywood" ( latter was a musical revue, based on various songs from Broadway and the movies). "Fiddler" was truly memorable, and... More
