A charming village

We enjoyed cycling and walking through this very charming village. Originally a campground, now tiny cottages of all different sizes and architecture.

The gingerbread cottages are too cute! There are over 300 of them in this Methodist campground. They used to be tent sites that the houses were built on those sites years later. You can walk around and see all of the houses, yes people actually live in them, and for $2 you can visit the Cottage Museum and see things... More

Small cottages like out of a story book. Nice to see once-in-a-lifetime. No charge to walk around to snap pictures.

The MV Camp Meeting Association was started over 150 yrs ago. There are over 300 cute "gingerbread" decor houses (originally tents!!) where most of the residents are summer only, although around 50 live year-round. The Tabernacle is from 1840s and high school graduation and many concerts are held there in the summer season. Also, go to the Cottage Museum, visit... More

Been enjoying this place for 37 years. If you come to Martha's Vineyard, you must take a stroll and learn about the history of this place. It's very unique.

Take a stroll, stay, or just soak up the history of this very special place. We were extra lucky to have had tea with relatives at their property.

You make a turn off of the main street into another world. In the center of the complex is the outdoor auditorium, surrounded by small brightly colored "ginger bread" style houses.

The first time we visited, I felt as if I were in a dream -- how could anything as magical as this be real? The architecture of these colorful, imaginatively-decorated cottages is simply charming. Illumination Night used to be a dream within the dream but now, it's so crowded that the magic is gone. A real shame. But, if you... More

Originally a Methodist summer revival retreat, it still conveys a sense of serenity even at the height of summer. The architecture is fanciful, colorful, historical. A great summer stroll.
