This is where it all started, why MV is the place it is today. Although it is a Methodist Campground it is open to all to learn about the history of the area. It's not just religious history either, the Civil Rights Movement had many important events take place in the area. You absolutely must check out the museum located... More

It's so much fun to walk through the campground and to look at all the charming houses. Many look like they came straight out of fairy tale. Be sure to take your camera because you'll walk to take lots of pictures.

The old homes from first settlers look like big doll houses. They are lined around a church and a pretty green -- bunnies hop, birds sing, kind of a strange idyllic setting.

really architecturally nice houses in various colours around a few streets and squares. They all have verandas and each is different.

This should be the starting point for anyone who is new to the Vineyard. The houses are beautifully painted and maintained (a requirement for purchasing them) and surround the tabernacle (itself a pretty nice center piece for outdoor events). Illumination and a number of other events happen here, making it a great place to plan a night out for in... More

On a girls trip with 6 other women and I must say I loved the Gingerbread cottages. Don't miss seeing them!

A beautiful reminder of the past, with the survival of the Tabernacle, Church and cottages. The museum gives an idea of what it would have been like in the past, living in such small houses

On an island with many natural environmental treasures, but few urban architectural experiences, this is a must see. Fresh off the Boat (FOB) must see as “First See”. The pictures are great, but it needs a walk around to experience. You are flooded with questions of how could this not have been commercialized or eaten by the rich until it... More

I have never seen anything like this ... Beautiful colorful cottages in a peaceful neighborhood . Walk around, take pictures but be respectful as you see people live in these houses.
