Our famous one hour tour, or, a 2.5 to 3 hour tour, which covers the entire island with great stops at the clay cliffs of Aquinnah and the working fishing village of Menemsha. See lighthouses, historic whaling captain homes from the 1800's on the streets of Edgartown. Enjoy Oak Bluffs, a Victorian style summer resort built around the historic Methodist Campground. We also offer 2 hour and customized tours. We travel to many places the "tour bus" cannot go....Martha's Vineyard Transport is the original van tour company, and now its seems Martha's Vineyard Excursion (ex neighbor employee) .not only copied are business plan, but also our ad picture of the van at the East Chop lighthouse.. « less

We were visiting friends on Cape Cod and mentioned that we had never been to any of the islands... so planned a day trip to Marthas Vinyard. We elected to travel the ferry system ( steamshipauthority.com) for just $16 round trip for the 45 minute ride. Beautiful weather enhanced the day as we sat on the bow seats of the... More

On October 14, 2014 my husband and I were bringing three of my out of town (from Arizona) family members to Martha's Vineyard for the day. I had called another tour bus company the day before and was told there was no need to make a reservation for the following day and given the times of their tours. While waiting... More

On a recent trip to Martha's Vineyard, my husband and I and another couple made a last minute decision to take a private tour of the island instead of a bus tour. That was absolutely the right choice. Our guide, Jack, took us around the entire island, sharing its history and many facts. He took us down narrow streets and... More

Took the private 3 hour tour of M.V. and were very glad we did. Our tour guide Ron [who I think is one of the owners] was a font of knowledge about the island.Very comprehensive w/o being boring.Made several stops to break up the length of the tour, including a stop at Larsen's Fish Market for a very tasty pre-lunch... The tour seem rushed. At the end, we had more than an hour left. We only stopped two times to get out and take pictures. He could have stopped 2-3 more times. He talked too fast and gave us too few chances to look around. I would have appreciated more stops because we certainly had a lot of time at... More

. 'This reviewer was part of a group that contracted our van for a 3 hr. tour, not a private tour like most of our tours... What is this reviewer saying... the tour was three hours.. 2.5 hrs. of driving and a half hour of stops for photos, and viewing.. just like advertised... because they had more time to spend... More

An amazing place! An amazing tour!! Dave Alton was our tour guide and he was so knowledgable about the whole island! He was pleasantly entertaining too. It was well worth the money to take the guided tour because the island is much larger than I imagined. I left my sunglasses on the van. As soon as I discovered this I... More

Our group was "beyond delighted" with the service and tour expertise that Martha's Vineyard Transport provided. Ed Rogers, an island native, knew "everything about everything," which was perfect for a group of scientists. He answered every technical, historic, environmental, and literary question we had. Ron's service in arranging the tour was perfect. We look forward to using the service again... More

This tour was one of the best I have ever taken on any trip. Five of us were shown all over the island by Alex, our outstanding guide and driver. We saw all 6 towns, with lots of interesting commentary and tidbits along the way. Our stop at John Belushi's gravesite and putting our feet in the water at Menemsha... More

This tour is ok for an island overview however it is difficult to see out of the windows of the smaller bus. Would have liked to have spent much more time at Edgartown and much less time at other towns where there wasn't much too see, including Oak Bluffs. Recommend getting off the tour at Edgartown.

This reviewer is telling of her day on Martha's Vineyard.. she did say our van windows are not as good as a big bus.. besides that mentioned nothing of the tour of Martha's Vineyard. With those van windows we were able go through the residential streets of the old whaling town, see two more lighthouses, go into a fishing village,... More

A lovely cruise out from Rhode Island to Martha's Vineyard on a twin hull catamaran, then on to the us with hard case driver Tad, complete with walking stick pointer, for pointing out sights and places of interest, rest in peace! Tad drove USS all around the island, giving us anecdotal stories (and a few lies). Kept a busload of... More
