Our famous one hour tour, or, a 2.5 to 3 hour tour, which covers the entire island with great stops at the clay cliffs of Aquinnah and the working fishing village of Menemsha. See lighthouses, historic whaling captain homes from the 1800's on the streets of Edgartown. Enjoy Oak Bluffs, a Victorian style summer resort built around the historic Methodist Campground. We also offer 2 hour and customized tours. We travel to many places the "tour bus" cannot go....Martha's Vineyard Transport is the original van tour company, and now its seems Martha's Vineyard Excursion (ex neighbor employee) .not only copied are business plan, but also our ad picture of the van at the East Chop lighthouse.. « less

This tour was one of the best I have ever taken on any trip. Five of us were shown all over the island by Alex, our outstanding guide and driver. We saw all 6 towns, with lots of interesting commentary and tidbits along the way. Our stop at John Belushi's gravesite and putting our feet in the water at Menemsha... More

This tour is ok for an island overview however it is difficult to see out of the windows of the smaller bus. Would have liked to have spent much more time at Edgartown and much less time at other towns where there wasn't much too see, including Oak Bluffs. Recommend getting off the tour at Edgartown.

This reviewer is telling of her day on Martha's Vineyard.. she did say our van windows are not as good as a big bus.. besides that mentioned nothing of the tour of Martha's Vineyard. With those van windows we were able go through the residential streets of the old whaling town, see two more lighthouses, go into a fishing village,... More

A lovely cruise out from Rhode Island to Martha's Vineyard on a twin hull catamaran, then on to the us with hard case driver Tad, complete with walking stick pointer, for pointing out sights and places of interest, rest in peace! Tad drove USS all around the island, giving us anecdotal stories (and a few lies). Kept a busload of... More

We took a 3 hour Jaws/Martha's Vineyard Tour. Our family are huge Jaws buffs and waned to see the main locations used to film the movies and also get a chance to see the rest of the island. If you want the best tour of your life, ASK FOR DAVE. He has lived on the island for 30 years, knows... More

Met us at the ferry landing (Island Queen) in Oak Bluffs. Local guide, Ed Rogers made it a special day with lots of info (he's lived there for years and married a local, as well) and humor. Gave us lots of insights on the history and landmarks, and some of the many "famous" historical happenings of note. I was added... More

We had a great tour of the island with Dave as our tour guide. We pre-arranged a 3-hour private tour of the island, and he picked us up at our hotel. His first question was "What do you want to see?" And then he tailored the trip based on our comments. Dave has lived on the island for over 30... More

Seven of us booked a private van tour of Martha's Vineyard with Martha's Vineyard Transport and Tours. Arrangements were made to be met at the ferry by our driver and Mr. G was right there as we disembarked. He took us on a very comprehensive tour of the island and included just about all there was to see - several... More

We arranged a 3 hour tour in advance for about 18 people. They met us on time at our inn with 2 vans and took us all over the island. We got out in Aquinnah for about 20 min and then drove along the southern road towards Edgartown. There we had a short stop before heading towards Oak Bluffs and... More

My husband and I were "bonus" (add-on) passengers on the three hour shared (not private) tour and were immediately made welcome by our van driver/tour guide, Alison. Herself a Vineyard resident, her passion and pride was apparent as she entertained our group with humorous, interesting details about the island, residents and visitors. To appreciate the island and privacy offered celebrities,... More
