I was skeptical but the old carousel is very well maintained. And catching the rings is quite diverting... my daughter loved it!

This is a very old carousel in the center of town. Our son had his first ride on the flying horses recently and enjoyed it. There are also a few arcade games and things along with the carousel. Kids will enjoy it. Collect the rings as you ride and you can win a free ride!!! Costs $2.50 per ride.

We have been to Oak Bluffs twice now and both times we have stopped by this wonderful carousel. On the second visit, we had the whole family on the trip. All of us had a great time riding on this vintage carousel. Some of us enjoyed it even more than others, as my son's friend managed to catch the "Brass"... More

Came back to visit with my grandchildren, brought back great memories of taking my own children when they were young. Worth the short boat ride from Falmouth!

This is a must see and experience when you come to Oak Bluffs. This antique piece of yesterday is the classic metaphor for life. Cliche?--not to me. The ancient feel of the whole experience links one to yesterday and still creates excitment and joy in kids of all ages. The thrill of the brass ring and grabbing multiple rings if... More

We didn't know about this on our day trip to the Vineyard. It was one of the locals that pointed it out to us. We took our 16 month old grand daughter on the ride and she loved it. You can also buy a children's book about the carousel there too. A recommend.

The beautifully crafted horses in this indoor carousel will remind older people of amusements of their past and likely amaze younger people, who will have the experience of trying to grab the brass ring while riding on these works of art. Don't miss it!

This is a really old carousel with a neat twist. Once the ride starts, they extend an arm that has rings in it. As riders go by, they can pick rings from the arm and the last rider to successfully pick gets a special ring and a free ride. We had as much fun collecting rings and riding as the... More

Where else can you ride a piece of American history for a couple of bucks and attempt to capture one of the coveted brass rings as you grab rings from the arms that reach out to riders to be plucked from. My son has been coming here for 10 years and even though he's approaching 13, he still makes met... More

I think this is a lovely carousel and certainly the little kids we saw were enjoying the ride. Certainly not something I would have a second thought about now that I am home, however.
