We've been going to Martha's Vineyard for decades and always pay a visit to the Flying Horses. Our son and daughter who enjoyed the ride and their annual quest for the brass ring now have children of their own and two of these kids recently had the glorious experience of catching their very first brass rings this summer. The music,... More

The Flying Horses carousel in Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard is America's oldest carousel. The horses and small and worn and stationary, but you won't find a more nostalgic ride anywhere! There is a little machine on the inside loop and the outside, and everyone tries to collect rings. There's a small pole on top of each horse head to... More

Too hot to wait for a ride. The history behind the attraction is interesting. Would not go back. Little kids would enjoy the carnival games and animal coin rides.

What a wonderful piece of history! A carousel built in 1876 an still going today! Absolutely a beautiful work of art and brings out the kid in every age. Grab the brass ring an enjoy the ride, I did!

No one is ever too old or too young for a ride on this beautifully maintained historic carousel in the heart of Oak Bluffs... Catch the brass ring and get a free ride! Popcorn, cotton candy, books and tees, plus a mini-arcade in the room next door, all combine for an innocent summer's afternoon.

My kids had a blast on this. I helped my 3 year old daughter grab the rings each time and she put them on the "unicorn" horse and kept telling me how much fun she was having. Definitely worth doing!

Really cool place. The carousel was a lot of fun, even for our 8 year old. The staff was extremely helpful when our 6 year old couldn't reach the rings. Good ole' fashioned family fun!!

This is a wonderful attraction that is not only fun for kis of all ages, but a slice of vineyard history as well. Great fun -- catch the brass ring for a free ride! Only drawback is that the preteen employees are empowered to be as rude as they want to the tourists.

This is a must for any visitor - especially if you have young kids. Good challenge in grabbing the rings. There's a way to grab more than one at a time, but I won't give away the secret.
