Less expensive town than Edgartown - shops are small boutiques- groceries - souvenir places. At the foot of Circuit Ave. is the famous Flying Horses - one of the oldest still operable carousels in the USA. Only a few steps to the ocean too. Affordable to shop and grab a bite to eat.

I enjoyed wandering around Circuit Ave & the neighboring streets. There are several cute boutiques. My favorite was Slip77 on Lake Ave, which sells well designed local merchandise that doesn't scream tourist yet makes for the perfect souvenir. Lazy Frog is a really cute toy store with lots of games... perfect for a rainy day.

All things considered, we enjoyed the shopping here the most compared with Edgartown (more shops there but very pricey) and Vineyard Haven (good variety of shops there too, but we sort of enjoyed the 'vibe' of O.B. more than V.H.)

In Oak Bluffs, there are many little shops with various kinds of things depending on your interest. Not only that, there are many different kinds of good restaurants there. We were there in third week-end of September and it was not crowded which we like a lot. There were a few restaurants and stores that were closed for the season.... More

Best place to be... all the shops, restaurants, and bars you could want and easily can get to any others from here. It's the major hub!

Loved strolling on Circuit Avenue, found the shops quaint and nice. There is an awsome choice of good restaurants like Linda Jean's, Slice of LIfe, Sharky's etc. We dined at a few of them and shopped for some souvenirs at Black Dog. Wanted to buy something at Vineyard Vines but everything was super pricey. Nice way to spend an afternoon,... More

Loved the charm of the mom and pop souvenir shops the reliable market and video arcade as well as the gingerbread houses that took you back in time to 1839. The Union Chapel of 1870 was a traditional landmark that was worth the stroll.

Several shops are worth the browsing, walk up one side, down the other. Lots of cars, people, small sidewalks and hilly, but some shops are worth the visit.

Typical tourist trap souvenir shops. The only saving grace are the restaurants. Otherwise , the retail shops all sell the same overpriced junk. You have to go, just to say you've been.
