The Iron Horse is a Northampton icon. Live music every night - and some really great bands come through here. I've seen everyone from Dick Dale to NRBQ to Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz Messengers here. Always a great crowd, appreciative of the music and respectful of the artists. I love it here.

Northampton boasts a number of fine venues for hearing music. This is one of the best, as it is a small and intimate space that often features world class acts. It is a bit seedy and not terribly clean, the food is ordinary at best, and the staff ranges from friendly to surly. I object to their $5 "service charge"... More

Went to the Iron horse for my birthday, two people i was with ordered Tanqueray and tonics and they couldnt taste any Gin, once we got the waitress to come back to our table.( sorry we were interrupting her eating out of the bar fruit at the bar) we told her about the drinks and she started arguing with us.... Had a good time last night but am always surprised that the food is as uninspired as it is. We've been going to the Iron Horse for about 15 years and am shocked that I don't recall any changes to the menu. While you don't go for the food, I also may not go back often because of the food.... More

My husband and I went for the first time last week to see Ellis Paul. 7pm show. Doors open at 5:30 and it's general admission. Slow process to get everyone seated. We got a decent, but tiny table with 2 small chairs. Not bad though. They make the most out of a small area. I did not have to venture... More

The Iron Horse harkens back to day of clubs like the Bottom Line, and unlike venues like the Bottom Line, the Iron Hose presents great live acts to this day. Retrofitted (a long time ago) from retail store the space features a good size stage, and old school table seating in front of the stage and on a mezzanine. I... More

First let me say, this is an excellent smaller place to see your favorite performer. Great acoustics, you can sit as close or far from the stage as you want. It has the feeling of an intimate concert just for you and about 200 of your closest friends. Can feel a little crowded right in front of the stage, the... More

I went to see the band Pugwash and this was one of their favorite venues. Stage was huge, tables with seating ,house sound system was fantastic and the service and food were top notch. Everyone told me Iron Horse was THE place in the area to see a show and they were right.

Got here at 5:00 for the. 7:00 show. Sat up top. Reasonable priced menu. Got a burger and a beer. Took 55 min to get our food. Asked for the burger med and was way over cooked. The band was ok. But it is nice to have cheap live music. Had two beers in 1 1/2 so I would not... More

Up close and personal venue for music if you arrive early enough. Very quaint. Food is average and not a very wide selection. Bathrooms are down steep stairs and only 2 single seaters, so there's often a long line.
