Beautiful part of the island. Feels like a fishing town and if we weren't visiting on 4th of July weekend I bet it would feel more quaint and lovely than what we experienced -- lots of crowds, cars and lines.

My husband and I spend a late Friday afternoon here, sunning ourselves with about 5 other people on the beach. It was quiet and perfect. The next night, we ordered take out lobsters from Larsen's and watched the sunset with 75 other people on the beach. A night to remember! Menemsha Beach is a special beach that shouldn't be missed.

This beach seems great to hang out at or fish at, but we came to enjoy the sunset. It was gorgeous. One of a few places you can see the sun set over water on the east coast. A must for a Martha's Vineyard trip. The on-lookers even clapped when it set. The sunset started around 7:30 and was all... More

The guidebooks said this was a cute fishing village with good places to eat where they filmed some scenes from Jaws. But we went in early June and the place was a ghost town. No fishermen, everything was closed.

Grab a chowder and some fried morsels from the Bite and catch the sunset. Any picnic food will do. And don't forget the wine. A picnic to remember.

Took a walk on the beach today in Menemsha, a cool and breezy day in May but it was lovely. It is quite different in the summer but it's wonderful no matter when you come. The sand is covered by rocks and stones of all sizes , shapes and colors The Menemsha beach is far from Everything and a great... More

When you are on Marthas' Vineyard island, you must go to Menemsha Beach and enjoy the glorious sunsets. Rocky beach so bring your walking shoes.

At Mememsha Beach the sunset is a celebration. If you ever go to Martha's Vineyard be sure to set one evening aside to capture one of the greatest sunsets you will ever see. Make sure to bring shoes or sandals though as the beach is rocky.

Sure, you can swim there but it's the sunsets, the chance to walk or fish on the jetties, amble along the shoreline looking for shells, catch glimpses of the Elizabeth Islands off in the distance, and stroll down the wharf to see the fishing boats bring in the catch that are the real calling cards of this beach. Plus you... More
