A short drive from the Aquinnah Cliffs will bring you to this lovely albeit smallish beach. Walk through the dunes, take a dip or just enjoy the best sunsets on the island. Sunset ritual comparable to Key West :) Definite "MUST" on the island.

Great place to catch a sunset, bring the kids for an end of the day play session, be it a game of tag for the young 'uns or teens throwing a Frisbee. Hopefully, they will easily fall asleep at bedtime. Some adults will want to enhance their visit by discretely, ahem, "imbibing". Or everyone enjoying an ice cream cone or... More

Area was so small and the big advertised fish market was only big enough for 5 people to stand at the counter. I was disappointed as I expected a pier and picnic area.

My friend and I spent a most relaxing afternoon sunning ourselves and walking along the Menemsha Public Beach. We dove into the waves and came out refreshed. Lots of families there, too.

Well worth the trip. If you are staying in Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, Edgartown, or thereabouts, its a bit of a drive. We find a three night stay is about right for seeing the island and hitting some of restaurants and shopping. The island isn't as small as you might think. The beach is really nice if you want to... We never miss this when we visit the Vineyard. Go early because parking is increasingly difficult. All of the local restaurants are good. Buy your meal at one of the fish markets and eat on the beach.

While staying in W. Tisbury we spent several hours over a couple of days at Menemsha Beach. Labor Day was busy but after that there was plenty of space. It was nice to be able to walk and get food at The Bite or Larsens. There is a descent restroom. There is also a couple of shops and an antique... More

The only downside of this beach is the transportation. No bus from Oak Bluffs, Edgartown or Vineyard Haven runs a direct route here, so you will be making at least one switch (usually from the 5) to get here, and that can run you an hour. If you are parking, especially at night, you will be looking for a while... More
