Nice little zoo with a great price. Don't expect anything too fancy. Lots of dirt paths, its a zoo in the middle of a forest. For $22/adult we found it very reasonable. Its a great spot for CT residents coming back from the Cape - 1.5hrs back to Hartford. A ton of monkeys to see. If you plan to feed... More

We love going here. We spend the whole day here as there is so much to see and do. You can see the animals up close and the kids love the deer exhibit. Make sure you do the train ride. There is plenty of shade and adults can have a break from all the walking while the kids play in... More

Southwick's is a good size - not too big and spread out - but has plenty in terms of variety of animals - from monkeys and large cats to rhinos and kangaroos to hyenas and lemurs. It has a good amount of trees, providing shade on hot days, and even has rides for the kids. My family and I really... More

This zoo is the best for people who like to take a leisure walk. Very large and so much fun. They have quite a variety of animals, I love the walk thru with the deer, and the Giraffes are great you are so close it seems like you can reach out and touch them. I love this place.

This Zoo is a nice place for a day's outing. Some rare animals from different parts of the world can be seen here. Though small Zoo, it is well organised. It has a very good kids play area; interesting rides; a toy train and a lovely Skyride. It is a place to celebrate Birthdays of kids, they will love it.... More

We brought our 9 & 7 year old niece and nephew to the zoo and we all had a blast. The animals are wonderful, the types amazing and the cleanliness of the place superior. There are also rides, concessions for food and drink, but nothing is overpriced, if in the area you must go whether young or old.

I brought my 8 y.o. and 3 y.o. kids. There was something for them both. The zoo was clean, the animals easy to see and there were lots of other diversions such as camel/elephant rides, a petting zoo, a ski lift ride, a playground and lots of kiddie rides. They also had a peacock show - not the most entertaining... More

I went here with the summer camp I work with, I loved it! Though it was clean and nice! Only down fall was it was mostly up hill going back to the bus and the zoo was all down hill going through it. Kids were not happy they were tired going up hill. Loved everything there though! feeding the deer... More

Nice little zoo and well maintained, Short on restrooms for the size of the park. Food was what one might expect at a zoo your typical hot dogs, pizza, sandwiches but the wait time to get anything was soooooo long. Better to pack a picnic lunch. Plenty of tables in the shade. Hilly terrain and dusty on about 1/2 the... More

I really enjoyed the zoo. I had a day off by myself and wanted to go someplace where I could take a walk and enjoy some sites. I'd never been here, but heard it was a nice zoo. There was a decent amount of shade so I wasn't walking around in the hot sun. I loved the deer area. The... More
