We brought our 9 & 7 year old niece and nephew to the zoo and we all had a blast. The animals are wonderful, the types amazing and the cleanliness of the place superior. There are also rides, concessions for food and drink, but nothing is overpriced, if in the area you must go whether young or old.

I brought my 8 y.o. and 3 y.o. kids. There was something for them both. The zoo was clean, the animals easy to see and there were lots of other diversions such as camel/elephant rides, a petting zoo, a ski lift ride, a playground and lots of kiddie rides. They also had a peacock show - not the most entertaining... More

I went here with the summer camp I work with, I loved it! Though it was clean and nice! Only down fall was it was mostly up hill going back to the bus and the zoo was all down hill going through it. Kids were not happy they were tired going up hill. Loved everything there though! feeding the deer... More

Nice little zoo and well maintained, Short on restrooms for the size of the park. Food was what one might expect at a zoo your typical hot dogs, pizza, sandwiches but the wait time to get anything was soooooo long. Better to pack a picnic lunch. Plenty of tables in the shade. Hilly terrain and dusty on about 1/2 the... More

I really enjoyed the zoo. I had a day off by myself and wanted to go someplace where I could take a walk and enjoy some sites. I'd never been here, but heard it was a nice zoo. There was a decent amount of shade so I wasn't walking around in the hot sun. I loved the deer area. The... More

What a wonderful day!! Had gone done their a few years back and definitely had to go again. The baby monkey was hysterical with his other sibling fighting over a stick, feeding the deers, watching the kids on the children's rides and some really beautiful birds as well as my favorite the giraffes.

The Missus' and myself went to Southwick's Zoo today. We had a very good time. Lots of animals, very clean facilities, and friendly staff. I would have given 4 1/2 stars if that was possible. I found the entry price a bit higher than the rest of the zoo's I've been to, but it was a better experience than the... More

This is a really GREAT zoo... not too small for adults, not too big for children. There is plenty of free parking. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, with shaded winding paths to lead you to the 100's of animals. There are picnic areas, snack stands and kiddie rides. The animals are the real stars. They all seemed to... More

I recently visited the zoo with my elderly mother and young nephew. What a great time we had! My mother enjoyed all of the animals and my nephew enjoyed the rides and the animals. We especially liked the deer forest and the petting zoo. The bird show was fun too! This is a large zoo so plan on spending the... More

So I have visited many zoos, in many cities, and I must say this one is a gem. The zoo is located off-the-beaten path, so do use your GPS. If you have little kids bring the stroller (the jogging one if you have it.) and wear sneakers or comfortable shoes. Most paths are not paved and there are little hills... More
