Southwick's Zoo is only a 20 minute drive from my house so we go there often. There are many animals to see and many varieties. There is a good amount of shade so even a hot day isn't unbearable. Food choices are average but you can pack your own lunch. My kids have also participated in several of their summer... More

You really don't expect much from this place given its location. But it is a real treat! It's a great zoo, on par with anything you will find in the bigger more touristy areas. I used to go here when I was a kid and it was kind of a dump. However, it is now a true destination that shouldn't... More

Such a great interactive place for kids. So any different opportunities to encounter animals petting areas and to feed the animals. (Obviously not the exotic ones) So many different species of monkies that are very playful. Exhibits are big and open so you don't feel crowded and many with stroller friendly viewing for toddlers. The train ride is worth it... More

Loved almost all of it, except for the fact that you are not allowed to feed the giraffes unless your in a summer camp, unfair...

Admission is the most expensive in the area. The zoos in Boston cost less. On top of that, for each thing they offer (rides, trains, overhead view) it is an additional cost. The $6 each train ride was not worth it at all. Half of the narration was asking us to spend money and we barely saw any other animals.... More

The best zoo in the area. The big cats were my favorite! The staff has regular shows and is very helpful and informative. There's a bit of construction going on currently but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the long run! Price was a bit higher than I expected.

This is one of the best kept secrets in southern New England. Southwick's Zoo is a clean, accessible zoo with most of the typical animals found in the zoo. There are "shows" periodically where people from the zoo explain about reptiles, or birds, or some of the other animals. I just returned from a trip with our preschool - 60... More

The snack shop has food that you can give to the chimps. The chimps actually know how to put on a show to get the food. Everything about the place is great - neat and clean and lots of fun.

I love coming here. It's a great little zoo in South-Central Massachusetts, sort of off the beaten path. It's never crowded, at least when I've been there. They have good food, the restrooms are clean, the staff friendly. I highly recommend the giraffe encounters, which my girlfriend (who is obsessed with giraffes) and I did on the last visit after... My favorite zoo to visit with my kids or just my husband. I never get bored looking at the animals. Fairly clean with many attractions. My son is particularly amazed with the Skyfari and train ride. My daughter is fond of all the birds. My personal favorite are the peacocks that walk around the facility. Food is plentiful and easily... More
