The Wayside Country Store is reputed to be one of the oldest continually operating stores in the country. It is defiantly a place to stop in this area. Next to it is Stephen Anthony’s restaurant, a great place to eat. Nearby is a historic area with the Wayside Inn dating from the revolutionary war and the subject of Longfellow’s poem”... More

Full of collectibles and souveniers. Lots of old photos of Marlborough, too. Also connected to a fantastic candy store so its worth the trip to come and browse and see what strikes your fancy!

Its truly a country store very much like travelling back in history and then finding just the right thing for your house or a gift. What they sell sparks memories of things that are part of your life and seems to convey that feeling so well. Even the special candy and fudge they sell fits that description. Take in the... More

Delightful old time variety and sweets store-very nostalgic. Lots of take home souvenirs. Loved the benches out front-one labeled Democrats and the other Republicans.

I've been going here for over 50 years and recently visited with a 90-year old friend, who was like a kid in a candy store (there is a "penny" candy store attached). It's a great, little gift shop with some nostalgic items, as well as uniquely, New England items, such as soup crackers from Westminster, Massachusetts, and Vermont maple sugar... More

This store gives you the feeling of the old days. It has a lot of charm. It is a great souvenier shop for those that visit. The best thing about this store is the attached candy shop. It has everything that you can remember you had as a child. The older you are the more memories you will have of... More

I stop by about every couple months for special flavored teas and candies. I purchase several gifts from their country store. They have small books that have lots of tidbits of information about New England areas. You have to visit at least once and see what they have!

This store will give you a nostalgic vibe. It is a fun place to visit. If you visit in the warmer months be sure to go around back for a view of the pond. Inside the store there is an interesting assortment of items, local items, unique items and more. The candy store is a must stop when visiting.

The country store carries more merchandise than you might imagine from the outside. A super place to get holiday items, including ornaments and stocking stuffers. The candy store that is connected is amazing. The gamut here runs from what used to be called "penny" candy to bars of milk or dark chocolate to Pez to some of the old-time brands... More

Do not go on an empty stomach, because you will be tempted by everything from maple syrup candy to oldtime goodies to sugar free/nut free sweets. Gifts for all price ranges and tastes, including top of the line truffles and barks. Next door you can find souvenirs, including local pottery and baked goods. Plenty of parking, well worth the visit.... More
