This is a short walk from The Barnacle restaurant. The views from Fort Sewall are beautiful so bring a camera. There are benches and we saw several people enjoying a picnic lunch. Plan to relax and watch the boats in the harbor.

Interesting history. The view is wonderful and all the sailboats and activity is fun to watch. Nice place just to sit and relax

It had a great panaromaic view over the ocean but nothing much inside it to see. And there were free parking available there.

Great view of harbor, a good walk through the town, catching moms and kids sunning and splashing on the rocks along the way.

No visitor to Marblehead should miss Fort Sewall. It is one of the favorite spots for locals and tourists as well. The views of the harbor and ocean are breath-taking, and the remains of the fort so instrumental to the War of 1812 are fascinating and authentic enough to attract re-enactments. Locals appreciate the summertime breezes from all sides.

Quiet and a short walk from Harbor Light Inn Bed & Breakfast . The historical import of this fort is remarkable .

What a lovely spot to throw down a blanket, have a picnic, and watch the sailboats and yachts go by.

A great viewing area to see Marblehead Neck, the Harbor, Gerry Island, and views all the way to Gloucester. Old Ironsides came under fire here and escaped to Marblehead Harbor as Fort Sewell fired powder(duping the British, no actual shot, or cannon fire). Also, visitors should go to the new town hall, (over 100 years old), for a great display... More
