Fort Sewall is a short walk from Town and a stones throw from the Barnacle Restaraunt. It sits at the mouth of the Harbor and across from The lighthouse. A great place to sit and have coffee. Dogs are allowed on leash. It is full of history and there are plaques you can read that share this information. There are... More

Everybody has different sights and views that make them happy. And for all my adult years living in and touring New England, it is Fort Sewall that always calms my soul. Has a nice area to walk around and sit on a bench and take in the view from a 360 degree view. Plenty of interesting forts there to look at a plenty of room for the kids and dogs to run around.

I would have liked to have spent more time here, but we had just finished dinner, and stopped here for the view and a bit of walk...in the rain, in the dark.... was beautiful even then with the waves crashing on the rocks and the lights across the way....can't wait to go back!!!

The view was very nice. A small but accessible park with a few benches. A great 270 degree view of the water that was just outstanding. The fort itself was very neat to see.

Needs to be restored - interesting and would be well worth it! More info about the place on site would be great.
