The MA Audubon Society runs this terrific sanctuary just a mile from Lenox and it is a jewell. Lots of easy flat trails around beaver ponds for the less fit and those with kids. Beautiful forest glades as well. If you are in for a challenging hike, take the trail up to the top of the mountain ( @ 850... More

My wife and I arrived around 11am on a recent Saturday and decided to hike the Trail of the Ledges to the tower at the top of Lenox Mountain. We had plenty of the company in the beginning as the trail begins near the pond area, but once we moved beyond that area, no one passed us on our ascent.... More

Mass Audubon manages this 1000+ acres of woods and meadows. There are well marked and well maintained trails of up to several miles and various levels of difficulty. Many boardwalks cross gurgling streams and circumnavigate ponds. There many varieties of birds and animals such as a bear and her cubs that were spotted the day we were there. This is... More

Hiking or walking on the trails in the sanctuary is a pleasant and tranquil experience. He are not ambitious hikers and there was a trail for us to follow. Great photo opportunities, as well.

I took my family of four to Pleasant Valley while staying in the Berkshires a few weeks ago and this place is huge! So many different trail levels, so much wildlife and just peaceful! I will definitely return the next time we are in the area!

Very nice walk but didn't see much wildlife. We got there around noon and the no one was in the office. We registered and left our fee but there were no trail maps available. The trails are well marked but you really need a map. Later in the day someone was in the office and we were able to get... More

The most frustrating trail marking system I've ever seen. All the trails marked blue out, yellow back the map not to scale. If you bypass the office, you're sunk, as 3 ladies who were walking in circles for 2+ hrs with zero idea how to get back told us. Still, great hike up the mountain, by a rushing stream, and... More

They charged us $5 a person to hike but al though the trails were well-marked, the trail they suggested for us was blocked off with a tree having fallen to block the path and cones/sawhorses preventing our passage so we retraced our steps. And a Day Camp was running races up and down in front of the entrance to the... More

We took what they referred to as the easy way to the top which was still a challenge. There were some places that you had to cross water by stepping on rocks. Other places you had to climb up a few feet of rock. Really had to be careful but it was well worth it. The area is beautiful and... More

Lovely place to visit, with interconnecting trails to make the walk as long or short as you wish. Keep track though, or you might be caught in an endless loop. Very easy walk for any age, not demanding at all, but quite lovely
