This is excellent for a day with the family, whether small children or teens. sitting on the lawn is a great place to have a picnic and enjoy the Pops concert. We have been doing this for over twenty years with our triplet girls.

Both cultural and culinary! Great venues, good concerts and winderful art museums! Our hotel Seven Hills was set on lovely grounds, the service was good, although breakfasts were a little monotonous... Same things everyday with not too many choices, but very lovely owners.

Site lines and comfort in The Shed are lacking but a necessity since we can't control the weather. Nothing quite like enjoying a picnic on the lawn (in the good weather), leaning back, watching the stars and listening to music.

We usually get seats in the tent so we don't worry about the weather. The performers are true professionals and we see some of the best there are. Highly recommended.

If you haven't been to Tanglewood, go. The only hassle is leaving the parking lot when the concert is over. Aside from that it's heaven.

We attended the Friday evening performance and had seats inside the shed. The acoustics were great. But it gets quite cool in the evening even inside the shed and although I had a sweater, it was difficult to enjoy the music sitting on a very hard chair and shivering. So I recommend a cushion and a blanket for more thorough... More

Tanglewood is a total experience of which the suberb music is really only one aspect. The natural beauty of its location has to be seen first hand. We prefer going in through the Lions Gate entry rather than the main gate. You can unload your things easier and then park. The parking lot is on a pretty steep hill however... More

Unfortunately bought our tkts online and paid 10 times more than our neighbors!.. But the concert was amazing and I would do it over again Sans using the website that purchased the tkts. Had never been but loved it. Only negative...bathrooms so far away and in the dark, not great for a female. Also food was too far away if... More

My first visit to Tanglewood was back when I was a college freshman. Here I am, 50 plus years later and still making a yearly visit, continuing to enjoy picnics on the great lawn, music played by the fantastic Boston Symphony, and the feeling of joy just from being in that beautiful setting. The smaller performance space, Ozawa Hall, is... More

We attended a Saturday morning rehearsal and had a wonderful time. Our 7 and 5 year old girls enjoyed it since the casual setting allowed them to get up and walk around when needed. There was also a table set up for kids to do crafts. Plus, us parents were able to get a taste of a BSO summer performance.... More
