We'd never been to Tanglewood before. It's a wonderful mix of outdoor space and classical music. Would definitely recommend a visit.

With last minute cheap seats at Carnegie Hall costing $85, a $16 lawn ticket to hear world class classical music live is a bargain. I have dragged my daughter to Lincoln Center since she was about 4, but now, at 10, she can appreciate it. This is the ideal venue to take a young listener. It's informal, relaxed, and has... More

Second year visiting Tanglewood for NPR's "Wait Wait" - they implied that they'll be coming back yearly for the Thursday before Labor Day weekend! We love bringing picnic dinners, wine, cheese, etc.... don't forget citronella candles, flashlights, and chairs (it's a long time to sit!). Tanglewood does rent chairs out.... but it's nice to have your own.

Whether classical music at its finest from the BSO or James Taylor, and special events such as "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me," sitting on the lawn or in the shed is always a transcendent experience. It's what summer should always offer.

Have always heard of Tanglewood, but this was our first visit. We are from Park City and so we have the Deer Valley Music Festival, which is a similar idea. In fact Keith Lockhart was the music director for Deer Valley for many years before returning to Boston, so it was nice to see him on stage again. Great setting... More

After several years we returned to Tanglewood and found it better than ever. The program was more interesting and less standard; the orchestra, better rehearsed--something that can't be taken for granted at music festivals with a variety of guest conductors. As always, the artists were world class. A range of seating options is offered, with corresponding prices. The lawn can... More

As the other reviewers can attest, this is a not to be missed experience. There is something magical and energizing about the environment. We didn't bring our own food, as many do, but had a quick bite to eat at one of the places at the venue which was pretty typical of what you might expect (fast food mainly but... More

This was a very nice and relaxed atmosphere. My family and I were there for Labor Day weekend and saw Tony Bennett. The drive there was very nice and beautiful as well. Tall trees and rolling hills. Once you get there, you park your car directly accross the street from the venue and only a short walk and you are... More

Saw Josh Groban last weekend. The venue is great, large lawn, ample seating inside with great sight lines and a super sound system. Spent time on the lawn with friends and then moved inside for the concert. A great family atmosphere to spend an enjoyable evening pf music. It's a long haul from So CT and I doubt that I'd... More

We went there for the Josh Groban concert on Saturday and Tony Bennett on Sunday. The first one we had inside seats and second one we were outside on the lawn. Both were great, excellent sound system, inside seats are roomy but you may want to bring a cushion. They have pull down screens so you can see the performers... More
