We were told by a local to tour this old historic building in town and we were not disappointed. It has the charm lost by today's cookie-cutter styling.

We were walking around Lenox and encountered a woman coming out of the library. She told us about the beauty and history of the building and encouraged us to go in and take a tour. The Library Executive Director dropped whatever she was doing and gave us a very informative tour. She did not point this out at the end... More

We stopped in town to look at the shops and have some food. A local told us we must go see the town the library before we go. I am so glad we listened to them! What an amazing library. It has been restored and is well maintained. Ask a local about it and they will tell you all the... More

We stopped by for the book sale and took a look around. There are some lovely, furnished rooms -- one for reading and one for music. The acoustics were great, I could hear the music in the music room, but not in the reading room that abuts it!

Originally the town hall, the Library is a beautiful building to see and sit in the reading room for a quiet hour of magazine browsing.

This library is so fantastic it squeaks! Not just the books, the staff know everything as in everything! Go if only to see the ceiling and architectural details. The history of the building alone is mind boggling. And another beauty of the MA library system is that if you have a library card in one it's good for all the... More

The Lenox library is our home away from home in the summers. We spend a lot of time there, borrowing books, attending lectures and buying books at their great book sale.

This is a beautiful old building, well restored, lovely ceilings and decor. Always some display about history of the area, and of course a large choice of books. Internet available, and used books to buy in case you run out of reading while you travel. I would not have thought to go to a local library on my trip, but... More
