It improved with the years... it had a down a couple years ago but now... the ambiance is back ! Many good restaurants such as Gingro's...one of our favorite and a must go each year... Also great pizza nearby but I don't remember the name... many stores for all tastes, clothes, candies...

We rented a cottage not far from Main Street Hyannis and loved strolling down here in the evenings, popping in and out of the different shops and galleries. There are plenty of people around which makes for a great atmosphere, and a real buzz in some of the stores. The main thing we didn't like about Main Street (and Hyannis... More

You could make a whole day out of just walking main street! We went in May and there were already a lot of people. There was hardly ever a place to park so we would suggest staying at a hotel nearby and walking for shopping

Parked in the CCCC parking lot and strolled down to the Kennedy Museum. Many shoppes, eateries and people to look at. There was also a farmer's market outside one of the churches on Main Street and you could sample the goodies. A fun afternoon.

So, my family and I were newbies going to Cape Cod for a vacation. We went to Provincetown the first day, which don't get me wrong, was fun, but compared to here, Provincetown was for the typical tourists and was junky. Main Street was so peaceful and quiet, yet quaint and buzzling with life. We spent every night of our... More

Main Street is filled with pedestrians, candy shops, clothing shops, restaurants, cafes, JFK Museum, Cape Cod Baseball League Museum, an used book store, jewelry shops, cupcake shop, ice cream, bowling, arcade… It is a really nice and easy place to stroll along and people watch.

Hyannis MA is a real town, so its main street reflects that. Its not cleaned up for tourists, it not homogenized and swept clean of all humanity and reality. Hyannis' Main Street has shops, not tons of boutiques. Its Main Street has ice cream, not $12 cups of Gelato...but you can get a nice Gelato. It has every sort of... More

Main Street features different restaurants, live music at night, close to harbor. Restaurants in every price range; mostly souvenir shops, exactly what you expect in a town like this.

Run down and dumpy. There were more than a few unsavory characters walking around as well, including one beggar. Just never felt comfortable there and at times, unsafe. Shops were nothing great, the water wasn't close enough to walk to with kids, and many of the restaurants seemed divvy. My experience certainly didn't match the glowing, idealic description in the...
