Main Street Hyannis is a place best to be avoided. It is a Mecca for Cape Cod's homeless, who frequently commit property crimes and assaults against unknowing tourists and locals alike. Many drug dealers call the area home as well. A trip in any direction from Main Street brings you into the seediest ghettos of the Cape. A horrible place... More

Lots of shops and restaurants. A small area for kids to ride the Merry Go Round. They do hair braiding. Nice vendor shopping. These things shut down in the fall but it still is good for nightlife and restaurants.

Not much to say really...nice street, nice shops....nice. Quick visit before we went on the Central Railroad Excursion.

I think there are more restaurants than shops on the Main Street, Hyannis. Quite a few of the shops were closed (1st week Nov). Those that were open were pleasant. Not as quaint as I would have expected. Restrooms on Main Street (near JFK museum) were spottless. The restaurant we visited was Torino's on Main Street - it was excellent!

I was here on Veterans Day when there was a parade which was nice. There is a large open area where they had speakers on a platform and plenty of room to stand and listen. One of the things I appreciated was the free public parking that was available. The shopping area is short-a few blocks with mostly tourist souvenirs... More

We were looking for Cape Cod bracelets, and Main Street Hyannis had them! It was a good place to compare prices and styles, with knowledgeable sales people/shop owners who were quite helpful. We went into several other shops, and were warmly greeted everywhere we went.

Surprising few shops where still open. We arrived on 11/01. Most all shops, bars, restaurants closed 10/31. There was still things to do and fill an afternoon with fun. We were not impressed with food at the brewery on main st. The food appeared to be overpriced bar food. They did have a good selection of beers though.

What a fun and unique street with many different stores and restaurants. The museums were not really worth the amount of money that was being charged. Great deals since it was the end of the season when we went.

We actually drove through main street before we realized we were on main street. The place does not look like old town USA, it is quite up to date. We stopped to walk around and see the different shops and restaurants. The walk is about 3-4 blocks long. There is the JFK museum, a couple of nice restaurants with outdoor... More

Okay, kinda okay, just okay, okay, the real deal. Why stop here, main street, in this town? Our advice, if traveling the cape move on, if renting here and filling the days- okay. The town has no charm and reminded both my wife and I of any tourist town near any lake in the Midwest. Lake Wawasee Sea, Fort Wayne,... More
