These guys know what they are doing when it comes to getting people on and off the ferry. They have a good system. The staff was very friendly and professional. I didn't enjoy taking the commuter bus to the ferry and having to stand both ways. Could have done with out that. One concern I had was security. I noticed... More

We wanted to go tour on Nantucket Island and wanted to get there rather quick so we could spend more time. We took the fast ferry at a 1 hr trip each way. The ferry was very nice, plenty of seating and tables to accommodate (if you got on the boat soon enough) Online booking said you didn't need to... More

The staff at Steamship were accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. The ride was uneventful other than salt spraying on my car ugh which was no fault of theirs...it was rough. I recommend! We got there early and tried to catch the earlier ferry but they were booked 100%. They did offer to let us get on and they'd... More

This was a great way to get to Nantuckett. The ride was very pleasant. You can sit inside in comfy chairs or sit outside. It was very quick one hour. It is a bit pricey.

Loved the high speed Ferry. Parking near dock was plentiful and the ferry left on schedule. Good scenic way to get to Nantucket. Enjoyed the comfortable seats inside and good views. Best views out on deck for photos. Bathroom facilities onboard were good. Several options for return trip, so time to enjoy the town.

My husband, 13 month old daughter, and I took a day trip to Nantucket in early June and we chose the Steamship Authority fast ferry as it was cheaper than the Hyline and during the week you can pay $50 for a round trip ticket as long as you come back on the same day. Not really much you can... More

We have been taking our car to Nantucket for fifteen years and have always had fantastic service. The online reservation system continues to improve and the office staff are really helpful, going beyond just answering questions and offering suggestions for speedier transit. New Englanders can seem gruff sometimes but they respond best to polite customers, as would anyone. If your... More

My wife and I spent the day in Nantucket sailing from Hyannis. We parked near the entrance to the pier for only $10.00 and took the opportunity to buy Barrett's tour tickets too. The service and advice from the steamship ticket office was first class; courteous and genuinely welcoming. If you are going to take the fast route, this is... More

It is worth it to take the high speed ferry. A longer ride may cause you to become seasick if you have a tendency for that. Very scenic. A great way to get to Nantucket and then when you are there you can walk around or do a Nantucket Bike Tours bike ride or have Gail's Van Tours take you... More

My husband, 8 year old daughter and I left our car at one of the SSA's parking lots for $12/day for late September. The gatekeeper sent the free shuttle bus to help get our stuff to the terminal, which was great. Tickets were $44 for the three of us, and everything went smoothly as we boarded. It wasn't a busy...
