Smaller but ok for me!

This is a smaller ski area with slow lifts. But, I only paid $20 for my ski pass! They had a few runs open and plenty of snow for my intermediate ski skills. They have a small... read more

We drove up from CT for a day trip. Our 7y/o had never skied before and she was a bit nervous. Kevin provided great instruction for our child. She was skiing confidently down the bunny slopes after her lesson. Easy check in, getting your gear, etc is a great for a family on a day trip. The facility is well... More

As an avid skiier, I prefer Catamount for a daytrip from the city. Butternut is prefered by my GF who is currently learning how to ski. For beginners, Butternut is a perfect mountain with a full sized lift that services exclusively beginner terrain. For more advanced skiiers, you'll be bored fairly quickly. The mountain offers good facilities, and good snowmaking.... More

My family and I skied here last weekend and had a great time. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Slopes were well groomed and plenty to choose from. Even though it was crowded, it wasn't crazy. Lift lines moved quickly. We will definitely come back.

This is a smaller ski area with slow lifts. But, I only paid $20 for my ski pass! They had a few runs open and plenty of snow for my intermediate ski skills. They have a small dining area with tables if you bring your own lunch. They have some food options. I has to pay $2.75 for a bottle... More

I went on a Friday. It was a beautiful sunny day which added to my excitement to be on the slopes. I was also impressed that this place had all of the trails open and the snowmaking was on point. For the $25 lift ticket, I'd say it's worth the day trip. Everyone who works there is extremely friendly. It... More

We enjoy the laid-back atmosphere at Butternut. Great ski area for families with kids of all ages (including adults who need to brush-up on their skiing skills). The staff are very friendly and helpful. We'll continue skiing at Butternut - thanks for a fun day!

Butternut is a beautiful wide mountain traversed by miles of gorgeous trails cut through the woods. It's small old fashioned ski resort feel makes it great for families. And lift tickets are the lowest in the area.

First time here for tubing. It was so fun. Tons of kids and adults of every age. Magic carpet ride up mountain so no need to climb up. Parking is crazy there as it gets really busy. I just wish they had more snack or food options near the tubing hill. So so fun. Don't miss it

My husband, our two boys (ages 4 and 7) and I just spent 2 days skiing at Butternut. We enrolled our boys in ski school full day. I believe the instruction they got was wonderful and the program/offering is great. It was a bit chaotic in the morning finding the right sign to stand near (there was no sign for... More

With their $25 midweek lift tickets it's one of the best values around. It's not a huge mountain but it has a good mix of trails. Some challenging enough to make an avid skier smile and some excellent green trails that can build the confidence of the novice. The upper lodge is warm and cosy - a great place to... More
