Went whale watching with Captain Bill & Sons on Sat. May 19, 2012 and had an amazing time. This has been the highlight of our 3 days Boston trip! The staff was very friendly and the boat was very aggressive at getting us close to the whales. Other boats just drift by but our boat was very active and they... More

I was in East Hartford Connecticut for 3 weeks. I wanted to do something different other than go to New York. Never even occurred to me to go whale watching until the hotel staff suggested it. I drove up to Gloucester, and there are numerous places to choose from. However, the staff at Captain Bill and Sons grabbed my attention.... More

we arrived early and found that the watch was not going out till the afternoon. Since we did not bring enough cash to hang around Gloucester for the day we wanted to cancel and go home bur we were told we had to take the afternoon trip. Had we been home when they called we could have canceled. The afternoon... More

We were visiting Gloucester and decided to take a whale watch tour, particularly so our kids would enjoy it. My wife and I had previously taken a whale watch tour in Monterrey, California, many years ago, and it was amazing, so were looking forward to a similar experience in Massachusetts. This trip, unfortunately, was not a positive experience for us.... More

They guarantee sightings and we definitely weren't disappointed! We saw some minky whales and basking sharks from far away and right up close we saw a mother and calf humpback whale (we even saw the calf nurse) and a male humpback whale jumping out the water and slapping his fins and tail about for ages. This is a long trip... More

My first trip to Gloucester to go whale watching was in 1999 and I have been back every year since. I found Captain Bill and Sons Whale Watch on the internet a month before my first trip and booked with them. I was thrilled with that first trip and the entire experience. From the stop in their office to pick... More

We booked our trip at the last minute on a beautiful sunny day so there was very little chance that it would be canceled. The tour went about 2 hours longer than expected because we went quite far out, but it was worth it and we had put the afternoon aside for this. We saw over 20 whales. We found... More

7th July 2011. A fantastic afternoon's whale watching with an informative marine biologist. We saw four different whale species including a sperm whale which is rare in these parts. We were very lucky to see so many whales and in such perfect weather. The trip should have been 3-4 hours but was over 5 hours due to the great sightings.... More

I bought a discount coupon and went out for the day with a friend. I asked the time for the event and they said 2-3 hours. As soon as we were on the boat they stated the whales 'were aways away and the day would be longer..." Yep, 6 hours. The boat was OK but nothing fancy and the crew... More
