Captain Bills Whale Watch is the best in Gloucester and all of the Boston North Shore area. Nice boats and extremely knowledgeable crew.

The boat is a nice size and with it being late season and a Tuesday the passengers were a small group. Of course there is no guarantee that you will see whales. The naturalist on board kept us well informed but also repeated a lot of the information. We were lucky to have calm seas and beautiful blue skies. 2... More

We had an afternoon trip scheduled for 9/21 (a Saturday), they called us just a few hours before and cancelled on us. Told us there was a 4 foot tide and the boat wasn't going out. They DID however call the 7 Seas whale watch and get us on that boat, which also honored our $29 price we had found... More

Sometimes you just hit it right. A clear September afternoon out on the water. If you like the ocean it doesn't get much better. I brought two friends down from New Hampshire to spend a day enjoying some of the pleasures that my hometown has to offer. Spent the morning in Rockport which is now full of T-Shirt shops. Meh.... Boy did we choose the best place to watch whales! Huge boat, not overcrowded at all, ESPECIALLY compared to the other boats we saw on the water. Very kind, friendly and well educated staff, very accommodating with clean restrooms. All staff and passengers had a permanent smile. Boy do these guy shave the best job ever! My husband and I... Excellent knowledgable staff. Saw more whale activity than my 2 previous trips w different outfitters combined. So close you could smell the stinky whale breath.

Decided to try this tour as they offered a discount if you showed a hotel key. This is our second whale watch in the area and had a great time. The young lady who educated us was fantastic, offering facts that we had never heard before. The group was small, working in our favour. The Captain went out of his... More

We were not disappointed. As the whales had been spotted not far from Provincetown, it took more than the average time to get there, but upon arrival, we were treated to a show of the three different types of whales all around us. The ship is sufficiently large to allow everyone a front row view, the captain maneuvers close enough... More

While in Gloucester, MA, my girlfriend and I went on the 4 hour Whale Watching excursion with Capt Bill's. It is a great, well run, family business, with friendly, helpful instructions on the whole process, where to park free, and what to expect. The crew on the boat was very accommodating, and knowledgeable of the various types of whales. They... More

We needed a break in the drive coming from northern Maine heading to western NY so we chose Gloucester since we figured a whale watch would be fun and there were several options. After reading the reviews, we chose Capt. Bill and Sons and couldn't be happier! We saw a few whales, each of them several times and were more... More
