Not much has changed here in a decade other than less mom aNd pop businesses . Not a decent cup of coffee to be found, however had an excellent lunch at Passports, someone knows what they are doing back in the kitchen,

On a warm Sunday afternoon in August, we were able to get a metered parking space on Main St. Since it was Sunday, parking was free. There is a wide variety of shops, gallery type stores and and small coffee shops and restaurants. I especially like the Village Silversmith (one of 8 locations the family owns north of Boston) which... More

Some very interesting shops but so many empty storefronts. Lots of restaurants The shops that are good are very good but the others I can understand why they are going out of business

Not much to do. Restaurants were OK and a bit overpriced. Town was run down. And the town shuts down at 5:00 PM.

We were fortunate to visit in August when the Main Street becomes a sidewalk sale. Lots of sales and wonderful activities for my grandchildren, including a train ride through Main Street.

Nice place to do some shopping. great stores and places to eat. Make sure you stop by Virgilios and get a sandwhich to go. Parking looks like it could be difficult but we lucked out and found a spot. Parking is metered.

What a great little (long) street filled with all kinds of shops. Restaurants, gift shops, clothing stores, jewelry, bars, etc. You can walk for blocks and blocks, and your feet will get tired before your eyes do. Just like an old fashioned little town, only 1 block up from the waterfront. But...be careful...keep an eye on your metered parking. They... More

We just attended the Main Street Sidewalk Bazaar which happens the second weekend in August every year. It's a great way to see all that downtown Gloucester has to offer.
