We are big life is good people and we stopped into the harbor goods life is good store. We were pleasantly greeted by Christopher. What a wonderful sweet man. He mad you feel like family while shopping there. He not only spoke to you in a family way but asked about you and your family. We love the store and... More

There are many great shops and eateries on Main Street in Gloucester but my two favorites are Harbor Goods and Cafe Sicilia. Harbor Goods is a Life is Good store, while I love that brand what attracts me to Harbor Goods is Christopher, the shop keeper. He is such a lovely man, I grew up in Gloucester but have lived... The main street of Gloucester always seems to compete with its more 'upscale' neighbor Rockport as to what is offered for a downtown setting. The shops in Gloucester are nice, but nothing that one can't find in other small towns far and wide. There are several empty shops and restaurants showing signs that the town is struggling to make a... More

Main street is a cute traditional street you would expect in New England. Lots of cute little stops and restaurants. Parking can be difficult so its best to park a block or two off main street and just walk over.

Walked and shopped until I could drop. Lots of good little shops and food. It was a great time and found lots of different things you would not find while shopping in regular stores.

Walked up and down and checked out the cool shops. found a bakery all the way to end with yummy Italian breads and pastries. Could not say no to the cannolis, they were fresh and delicious

We enjoy Main Street Gloucester much more than the tourist trap of Rockport. There is a nice mix of gift shops, book stores, eateries, several coffee shops two vintage clothing stores, and even a bona fide vinyl record shop. Don't miss it.

The town is exactly how you would picture a shipping village to be- charming, historical, full of shops and restaurants and the people here are all so great and welcoming. I would visit here again and will tell everyone how great this town is.

We parked on Western Ave and walked back to Main Street, it was late on a Friday afternoon and everything was very quiet. We appreciated the effort that had been made with the shop windows but didn't find the area at all vibrant. Disappointing shopping street, perhaps we just caught it at the wrong time.

Any time of year is right for a stroll on quaint Main St. and enjoy the independently owned shops and restaurants. It has a good feel and the ocean is nearby.
