I was recently on the Privateer 4. How lovely it was to be out on the ocean visiting the other world that we just don't ever see. To be in the world of our ocean cousins was fantastic. I have had the experience of seeing these creatures in captivity but once you see them in their own habitat (and not... More

My wife and I signed up for this excursion hoping to see some whales but realizing that this wasn’t the zoo so we might not see any. We made up our minds that we were going to enjoy the trip no matter what. We were not disappointed. It was smooth sailing on a beautiful sunny day. The crew was friendly... More

Thank you, Gene, you "get it." That is just the right attitude to have when it come to whale (or any nature) watching. Please come sail with us again... we'd love to have you out anytime. More

Headed out for the 1:30pm watch. Crew was very friendly and attentive. Naturalist was very well spoken, easy to understand and had lots of great information to share. Had to go out 20+ miles from Gloucester, but we found some rare feeding pin whales. The seas were a bit choppy, so the ride out was a little rough on the... More

I chose to go in the 8.30 AM boat. The boat was not as crowded as it was in the 1.30 PM one. It was colder than usual for the fag-end of August. So, they WOULD have known better that whales are NOT going to come on that cold morning and even if they do so, it will not be... More

Really? In many ways 'Sea World" and whale watching are complete opposites: One is going to see wild and endangered animals in their natural habitat, behaving in a natural manner. The other is going to a theme park to watch captive...some would say abused...but certainly trained creatures perform tricks for food. Other than the fact that they both involve whales,... More

My two daughters and I went on a nostalgic trip to Gloucester from KPT as tribute to my late wife, who loved the fact that Gloucester was a 'real' working place and not just for tourists. We always go on your trips on our vacations from the UK, and we were fully rewarded. High speed out (in comfort) means that... More

Mike, Kate, and Sophie, Thank you for that wonderful review. I'm glad you had another great trip to Gloucester (your wife's take on the area was spot-on, by-the-way) and I'm glad we could be a part of that. We hope to see you all out again sometime. More

This was well worth the money. The crew is friendly and shared a wealth of knowledge about whales. The trip out of the harbor itself was nice. The crew knew where to look for whales. Once whales were found, the boat steered towards the whales and was turned for the best lighting for photography. All in all this was an... More

Hi samandlousmom! Thank you for that great review of your whale watch with us! 20 feeding whales is a lot and we've been fortunate to have a number of those-tyoe trips this year. Hopefully if you make it out again sometime you will have another great trip. It may be different, however, but that is part of the fun! Being... More

This is a must do. Cruised out 18 miles from Gloucester and was greeted by 15-20 whales. Several groups in the same area. Had plenty of time to watch while naturalist, Jodi gave us an excellent education about the area, the animals, and birds. Was just enough narration. I recommend going in Sept as you will have much more space... More

A great afternoon on the water. We spent about 90 minutes in contact with four humpback whales. Loved the experience. P.S. Leave int infants on shore. The ride can get bumpy.

I've been on several whale-watching trips and highly recommend 7 Seas. As another reviewer noted, our morning reservation was canceled two days before our scheduled departure. However the person I spoke with carefully explained that the whales had moved farther south and there just wasn't time to get there and back twice in a day. Fortunately, we were able to... More

Thank you Suzala103! I'm glad you enjoyed your whale watch with us and that you noticed how hard we try each and every trip to show people the best possible whale sightings. As you stated in your review, there was a period during August when the whales were very far (about 30 miles) from Gloucester and sometimes that meant we... More
