Stopped here. Paid $10 for parking and they weren't collecting when we left (which was less than an hour later). Beach was too rocky for us to enjoy and smelled a little funny. My daughter played at the playground a little bit before we left.

My husband and I unfortunately hit traffic coming from western mass. but this beach was almost empty when we arrived and since it was around 4:30, there was no charge for parking. The bathrooms close at 5:45 p.m. so be aware of that. It is beautiful here, the sand is soft, and the cove is picturesque. Also a nice playground... More

Great LITTLE beach; great value. Parking is $10-15 vs. $25 at the more popular spots. Decent bathrooms, playground, gentle waves as it's Gloucester Harbor. My daughter loves it. Feels great to turn right to Fort Stage, when all the traffic is turning left for Good Harbor.

I love this beach. It's a small beach located behind the Information center. The sand has very interesting color. You don't need to go especialy for the beach, you can take the kids to the playground, take a small hike on the rocks nearby or just enjoy the views from the fort, where the cannons are located. This is a... More

We enjoyed our recent visit to this wonder beach. Location, scenery and water were superb. We were pleasantly surprised by the water temperature (perfect) and rich scenery! We loved it!

We tried to go recently to Wingaersheek beach. It was full by 9:30 a.m. Someone was smart and posted a person at the head of the very narrow twisty road to the beach to head people off. He directed us to this beach. It was great! Yes, there was seaweed in the water, but that makes great sand castle decorations.... More

Love, love this beach! Great for families with small children! The water is mostly calm, except for when big boats pass by, but the waves don't get very big. The beach is tiny and has a lot of hermit crabs, great for the kids to explore. There is shade from the trees hanging off the hill, so you have the... More

We recently spent a day in Gloucester and made the walk to Half Moon Beach. It was a very pleasant and shady beach and worth the walk.

This beach may be quite small, but there are many great aspects to it. Surrounded by greenery, there is plenty of shade to help keep you from burning. There is a lifeguard on duty most of the summer. The bathrooms are nearby. The view of the outer harbor is serene. It is very kid-friendly due to its size and active... More
