It took us longer to actually see the whales then what I had expected, but it was worth it. The crew is very friendly and informative. I would recommend them to friends.

If you love wildlife and being outdoors, this is the trip for you. The boat is fast and very well kept, clean. The naturalists on board are very knowledgable and very friendly. They told us before we left the dock that we might not see any whales because sightings had become fewer and more erratic. We saw at least six... More

I have attempted 4 trips with Cape Ann and of those attempts, I have boarded the boat for 3, and one trip cancellation. Of the three times I got on the boat (which is nice, clean and fast) had two rain checks because of a lack of whales and one great trip in the summer. Summer is definitely the season... More

If you are up for a boat trip it's a great idea. You can't set your expectations too high as wildlife is unpredictable. Our trip was fantastic. The ship is well managed and clean. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and they guided us through everything we were seeing. The staff were attentive to any passenger needs. I recommend taking something... More

This was my first time on a professional whale watching tour, so I have nothing to compare it to. However, it was a very successful trip. I give them credit for being upfront before even leaving the harbor. They told us we might have to go out further than usual to find the whales and the trip could be 5... More

We recently went on the Whale Watching trip with Cape Ann. It was a nice experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very informative about the kind of whales that we would encounter in the waters. They took us to the area which was about 2 hours away from the dock to find the whales (since they... More

Your visit will depend on your expectations and then how many whales you see. We were expecting to see lots given it's the season and in one of the best areas to see them. We saw one minky whale and two sleeping humpbacks but we were all hoping for more, hence it's a lottery but I guess something which can'... More

I have gone on two wonderful whale watches. One from Boston Harbor and the other from Cape Breton. I was looking forward to going a third time on the Cape Ann Whale Watch. We spent over. $200 for our family to go on a 5 hour trip. We did make reservations in advance. There were not enough seats for the... More

We saw four whales on the trip, but the ride itself is interesting and fun. Just feeling that clean sea breeze and seeing the views was worth it. I went in the morning and the ship was about half full, so moving around was easy. Highly recommended!

Great crew, knowledgeable naturalists, fast boat, and congenial friends make for a great adventure - even without whales. But this crew was persistent and we went all the way to P'town. Great sightings and a perfect day. Note that if you don't see whales, they issue a free ticket for a return trip. The trip is generally 3 hours long... More
