Your visit will depend on your expectations and then how many whales you see. We were expecting to see lots given it's the season and in one of the best areas to see them. We saw one minky whale and two sleeping humpbacks but we were all hoping for more, hence it's a lottery but I guess something which can'... More

I have gone on two wonderful whale watches. One from Boston Harbor and the other from Cape Breton. I was looking forward to going a third time on the Cape Ann Whale Watch. We spent over. $200 for our family to go on a 5 hour trip. We did make reservations in advance. There were not enough seats for the... More

We saw four whales on the trip, but the ride itself is interesting and fun. Just feeling that clean sea breeze and seeing the views was worth it. I went in the morning and the ship was about half full, so moving around was easy. Highly recommended!

Great crew, knowledgeable naturalists, fast boat, and congenial friends make for a great adventure - even without whales. But this crew was persistent and we went all the way to P'town. Great sightings and a perfect day. Note that if you don't see whales, they issue a free ticket for a return trip. The trip is generally 3 hours long... More

I had never been on one of these whale watches before and I was not sure what to expect. I hoped we would see one or two whales during the trip. We actually saw two fin back whales which each surfaced two times. And we saw at least two minke whales come pretty close. It was a really good time... More

We were very lucky and saw 5 humpback whales...... 2 jumped out of the water and 2 raised their tales and fins in unison. The boat staff engaged visitors on the journey there and back with interesting whale facts if you wanted to hear or you could just enjoy the boat ride. Looking at the other boat tours, the Cape Anne tour... More

We had the best time & it was the highlight of my visit to Massachusetts!! We saw whales jumping up & into the air!! It was so exciting & maybe the only time I'll ever see whales in the wild. Highly recommend!

Depending on who you are travelling with, Cape Ann Whaling Tours is not for everyone. For young families, I could not imagine trying to keep a toddler or up to seven or eight year old child entertained for four plus hours. You get the half hour break in the middle where you get to see some awesome sights. The whales... More

This trip the kids called educators did not bring around the baleen, the artifacts, sounds of the whales, and the 'speakers' were I audible if you faced the wind or were not directly below them. Other than that.. As expected. For overfished waters, it is still breathtaking to see a whale..be it Minke, Humpback or other. Check your Groupon fine... More

We have been on several whale watch trips from other ports. This trip was probably the best. We saw multiple breaching behaviors. The ship is clean and well maintained and the crew is very friendly
