Quiet, serene, beautiful. This is the place to watch the sunset when visiting Cape Ann. A beautiful little cove, bordered by granite shores on each side - with a sandy beach in between - a perfect setting for your Cape Ann sunset pictures. Bring a bottle of wine, a couple beach chairs and sit back and enjoy the experience -... More

There isn't much parking but we stayed within walking distance. It was not crowded at all. It seems that is was not well known as the other beaches so its a nice place to spend a quiet afternoon.

Small cove, not crowded. Visited here because my wife's family used to vacation here in the summer when they were kids. The cousins met us and we visited the old cottage on Rowley Shore drive (still there) and took pix on the rocks in Plum Cove to compare to pix from 40-50 years ago.

Plum Cove Beach is a little beach with a cove which is ideal for small children as you can never lose sight of them and the waters are very calm and safe. At dusk, the sunsets are absolutely beautiful and it's a great time for couples to sit quietly and absorb the unbelievable colors. The one thing you should know... More

This is a gorgeous beach that is tiny but a gem. The water is refreshingly brisk, and filled with sea life. I've found crabs, lobsters, hermit crabs, and even fish swimming by the shoreline here. The parking is resident only though I don't think that's enforced later in the day. I've seen lifeguards on weekends, but sometimes there are none... More

Plum Cove Beach is not as big as the other touristy Gloucester beaches, but in many respects it's better. When I visit, I try to get there early because while it's not well known amongst tourists that flock to the city during the summer, it is well known to locals and tends to fill up. Plus there is limited parking... More

Wow this is such a beautiful beach. Surrounded everywhere with views of rocks, ocean and sky. Lifeguard in summer. Late kayaking here too. The most amazing sunsets can be viewed here while enjoying dinner.

This tiny, picturesque beach is for Gloucester residents. It has an amazing tide height and changes dramatically at low tide. It is a great place for little kids and strollers, parking is on street or across street and at low tide it's a great place to search for sea glass.

Plum Cove is a small beach with a few too many pebbles underfoot. However, it's small enough (like a little inlet) to supervise children without those moments of panic. The views across Ipswich Bay are fantastic. My niece & nephew enjoyed exploring here so much, among the rocks, that they'd request it over Good Harbor or Wingaersheek, two mammoth Gloucester... More
