Great beach, so pack a lunch and plan to spend the full day. There's a creek off to one side that's good for kids to explore. It's large enough that a couple laps walking the beach will get you your share of exercise for the day. Picturesque view of Thatcher Island with the twin lighthouses. If going on a sunny... More

Often big waves, water may be a little chilly but has been known to reach 75degrees at times, Never any Green head flies ( biting flies) unlike most other north shore beaches, Very beautiful with white, soft sand, Highly recommend it. I maybe partial because I live only a few miles from it. I visit Good habor beach 2-3 times... More

This is a wonderful, clean and safe beach. Get there early to obtain parking. There is nothing to dislike....perhaps too crowded on hot days!

This beach is a favorite of mine. I lived near Gloucester for several years and loved going there. I am not a fan of the beach in summer, therefore I cannot speak to that time of year at this beach. I love the off season at a beach. This beach has it all for my type of getaway. Dogs are... More

Wonderful beach - its best to check the tides if you don't like to be crowded - so come at low tide for maximum space from other bathers. Also, plan to bring your trash out with you as the beach doesn't have trash cans to help get rid of the pesky seagulls. Great beach - lots of waves.

I've been going to this beach since I was a child. Great waves and beautiful setting. I make a pilgrimage at least one day each summer. Sorry I don't live closer.

Great beach for people watching and walking the sands. Who would think that one could swim comfortably on the North Shore of Mass in October. Check it out and then take in one of Gloucester's seafood establishments for some hot chowder and cold beers.

Being a true native resident of Gloucester, MA I must say this is the best beach on the eastern coast by far!! The sand is pure and fine, no pebbles ever in the soft sand or hard, clean and prestine, yes the water is cold, but refreshing (a little warmer in August) and the people are the best!! Visited Gloucester in early September for the 2nd time in 2 years and once again went to Good Harbor Beach. The beach is just so pretty, water's very clean, gentle rolling waves, sand like sugar. Good for families, good for teens, good for seniors - one of our favorites!
