Beautiful Ground

I recently attended a baby shower at Highfield Hall in Falmouth, MA. The grounds are spectacular! The hall has been refurbished and is amazing!

The exhibit was cut paper and glass. Wasn't quite my thing. Seemed quite amateur. However the gardens were worth the visit. The fairy houses were quaint and it was nice to go exploring for them. Definitely worth it if you have little ones.

We returned to Highfield to see an exhibit of paper cut-out art on the 1st and 2nd floors of the mansion. It wasn't quite as thrilling as the similar but different exhibit of Summer 2014, but it was still worth seeing. In the surrounding gardens and woods, they also had an exhibit of "Fairy Houses" which ranged from whimsical to... More

Highfield Hall was one of the first summer mansions of Cape Cod. The Beebe family owned Highfield Hall and the adjoining mansion, Tanglewood. Tanglewood would later meet the ill fate of the wrecking ball. But Highfield, which almost met the same fate in 1994, was saved by a group of people who wished to restore it back to its former... I thought this would be a good way to spend a rainy day but now I'm hoping we make it back on a sunny day to explore the grounds. The art exhibits there when we visited were spectacular but they do vary. The outside of the house is stunning. I only wish the inside was more of a recreation of... More

I love touring older homes of the rich and famous. This a fairly new attraction since the house had been neglected for many years and recently renovated and what a beautiful job they did. The house was open to tour on your own. Gorgeous staircase and lovely gardens. Located a short distance from downtown Falmouth and has plenty of free... More

We saw the Fairy Houses...wonderful and the rest of the gardens were beautiful as well. It was a beautiful day so we did not see the inside of the house but spent more time admiring the fairy houses.

A fabulous blend of local history, cultural, cooking and music events and gorgeous grounds. This was the 1878 home of the Beebe family, but is now open to the public for art exhibits and other events. Worth finding out online (www.highfieldhall.org)what's going on ahead of your visit because events fill up fast. Right now there's an exhibit of "fairy houses"... More

This beautiful Victorian Mansion originally owned by the Beebee family of Boston had deteriorated to the point of near collapse when a group of Falmouth citizens restored it to pristine condition. It itself is step back into history when the wealthy lived in opulence and had scores of maids, cooks, and gardeners. It is the American Downton Abbey! As well, there... More

We had wanted to see this place for a long time & finally did. Its a really beautiful mansion. Love the architecture. The gardens are equally gorgeous. They had a fairy house display when we were there. Artists who made these were quite talented. No fee but just a suggested donation of $5.00. Great find & you can take pictures... More
