Very convenient to our Holiday Inn. Also enjoyed not having to park but a couple of blocks from the departure ($15) in their secured area. The ferry was clean; the staff were friendly and accommodating; the snack bar was more than adequate; and it sailed both ways on time and on schedule to Oak Bluffs - just a super part... More

Only 30 mins to MV. Fast convenient and clean. Food on board, spacious and runs on time. I have used this ferry before and it is always reliable.

We have been taking the island queen for the past 10 years for our visits to Martha's Vineyard and I think it is about time we wrote a review. Not many people know about the island queen. I am learning that most people take the Steamship Authority, there are pros and cons to both but I enjoy the Island Queen... More

Thank you very much Mollie for your great review and for taking the time to highlight the Island Queen as your preferred ferry transportation to and from Martha's Vineyard. I realize the one con you shared is that we are cash/travelers checks only and this is true. As a seasonal ferry service, we are able to offer low passenger roundtrip... More

I enjoy this ferry. Even traveling on one of the busiest days of its season, it is still a pleasant experience. They are timely and polite and they dock just doors from OB's tourist area. Best of all, you don't have to contend with loading and unloading cars. This is a passenger only ferry.

The ferry service was great but we didn't enjoy being pushed along by other impatient travelers as we were boarding like cattle. There were plenty of seats on all levels and we enjoyed the view from the top deck both ways. Easy to buy to and from tickets in Falmouth and then just hop on at M. Vineyard without having... More

they leave on time, they arrive on time, the ship is clean: what's not to like. Boarding can be a bit frenetic. Bring CASH: they don't take credit cards. They can get booked to capacity in peak times, so check in early if you're catching an early ferry to the island.

Crowds waiting in hot sun for passage to Vineyard. Once is enough for me. Trip over was fun, but not the wait.

The trip was very pleasant. It was a hot day and the cool ocean breezes were very refreshing. The whole trip took about one hour. Would not have minded riding on the ocean all day. The only problem was the time it took to board ship.

Good value for money, quick, clean and punctual - recommended for a day trip to the island. We paid to park at their compound near the dock in Falmouth which was convenient, although we could probably have parked in a side street for free. Worth it for the convenience though.
