We went to visit Paradise Island on 17th Jan 2015 while staying at the Rui Bachata Hotel on a 2 week holiday. We are 2 couples 50/60 years old who like to travel and enjoy new experiences. We are not the fittest or the most agile but we did not find it a difficult excursion. I would so recommend the... More

Exactly what it says on the tin - PARADISE! A beautiful little island in the middle of nowhere. Not much on it, just a few huts with some food, drinks and snorkelling gear. We had a brilliant day! Travelling by speedboat to the island was fun. Once we were there, we were given drinks and sandwiches. Then we were taken... More

The water is so blue and beautiful. Snorkeling is great here. It is a very small island, so there is a limit to how many people can be on the island at one time. You have to be scheduled to be here. So worth the trip. Just know there is not a bathroom.

This was a great tour, it starts at 8 am with an hour ride on a coach bus and a tour guide giving some general information which can be boring but then it begins you arrive at the boat and there is a light breakfast for everyone, followed by a ride to a swim area and drinks for everyone, then... We drove from Puerto plata on the bus which picked us up at the hotel. The island is a couple of square feet no more and its overloaded with tourists. Because different companies go there I guess all at the same time. Snorkeling was very nice and the beach too. But it wasn't worth the 2 hours drive each way.

Nice boat trip to Paradise Island. Lots of people but still well organized. Everyone got snorkel gear and could follow guide around coral reefs. We enjoyed ourselves and got to see lots of beautiful fish. The sea is lovely and we swam and had a very nice day on this tiny island. Got served drinks with and without alcohol, as... More

Definitely not a cheap day out, but I found it to be worth it. The island is beautiful, but they pack it with hundreds of tourists every day so it does get too crowded in my opinion. Snorkeling around the island is ok, there is a coral reef nearby. Next time I'd probably pay more money for the VIP experience.... More

We booked through Marysol Tours before we even left the US. Marysol Tours has the best prices and you can negotiate the best price. Don't book through your tour company or hotel. We had a bus ride of about 1 hour to the island. We then took a 15-20 minute speed boat ride to the island. The island is nothing... More
