This was a great experience! We were picked up on a bus at about 730 am. The bus made several stops to pick up other people that would be joining this excursion. It was a bit of a long ride , so keep in mind this is a day trip. The bus ride itself to the boat is a scenic... More

The guide Miguel was fantastic, i'm not a great swimmer and he was helping me swim so i can snorkel on the island, the trip was not just about the island is was about the culture, the whole country, then the history and then we visited lovely places, the island is literally paradise, the whole trip was amazing, we wanted... We booked the VIP tour and started our day with breakfast on the catamaran. The crew and staff were wonderful and made the trip pleasant. Jumping into the ocean and sipping champagne was a treat. The Lobster lunch was delicious and filling. Great day!

We have visited the Paradise Island & The Mangroves during our trip to Dominican Republic at the beginning of 2015. I usually divide my reviews into PROS and CONS, but in case of Paradise Island it’s really hard to find any CONS. If you prefer to see how the Paradise Island looks like go to YouTube and search “Paradise Island... More

Booked the catamaran cruise, about 80mins drive from hotel, followed by a short boat ride to catamaran, had breakfast on board, we cruised to a little bay where we went swimming accompanied by a floating bar and barman! Then onto a lovely cove where we were handed hollowed out coconuts full of rum, and given lunch the food was quite... More

We had booked a Catamaran cruise for the day and visited Paradise island. It was one really beautiful sand bank in the middle of the sea. It has some great snorkeling with beautiful marine life and the beach was beautiful. The visit to the mangroves was interesting and great to see how the island is so unique. It was a... More

Paradise Island is exactly as advertised! The snorkeling was great, the food was good, the tour guide Luis was very informative and did a great job of keeping his "family" together and organized. Taking the speed boat was an adventure and traveling through the mangroves was very exciting.

This trip is worth every penny! You take a bus ride (I think 2.5 hrs from Puerto Plata), which was fine. Upon arrival you get free drinks (Cuba Libres!) and snack if you want. You take boat ride thru the mangroves & learn about them to off to the island which is in middle of nowhere. You get there &... More

Very long bus ride from our hotel, 2.5 hours each way, but that gave us the chance to see a bit of the country and the villages around, off the tourist path. The island itself wasn't much, a sand bar in the ocean! But the water was clear and the snorkeling good. The catamaran ride was great!

Booked with Jones Truck Safari. Had a good time. We got to the sand bar on a fiber glass boat and roared across the ocean getting wet before we got there, it was fun. Snorkeled around the reef and saw some amazing fish. A little fruit and drink and snorkeled some more. Then toured the Mangroves saw some small crabs... More
