I'm not sure what I was expecting but this was a very slow boat ride through the marshes with very little to look at. We saw only a few egrets. Although an osprey nest was pointed out to us, there were no osprey in or near it.There was a lot of boat traffic as well which forced our boat to... More

You can't beat midday, midweek and beautiful weather for a perfect cruise -- and the small number of fellow cruisers made a difference. We could see the view instead of other people. Good narration by Darryl; interesting information but enough silence to enjoy the trip. Very relaxing tour.

Really enjoyed this simple boat that explored the marshes of the tidal estuary. We saw egrets, all kinds of gulls, and amazing views. Lots of low-key fun.

All of the folks associated with this Company were very pleasant and attentive. The Captain was knowledgeable and engaging. The pontoon boat was comfortable and guests were not packed in too tightly. Of course, the fat that our day came with near perfect weather certainly helped to yield a positive perspective. While we were not hampered by insects, it was... More

This river cruise is an enjoyable way to see the river's nature and spend a pleasant hour and a half. The cruise narrater explains the various sights, history, and points out the wildlife. They have complimentary muffins as well as soft drinks and coffee. The river is calm and not too heavily trafficked.

Great way to spend an hour on a nice summer day. Dylan, the guide, was very informative without being cheesy or obnoxious. The whole experience was very professional; we paid, got drinks, and then in a few minutes were on the boat. Our kids ( group of 8 girls under 10 years) were entertained as well.

This is a scenic trip up the Essex River to the open ocean and back which I think was said to be ten miles round trip and taking about 90 minutes. Captain related provided lots of historical information about the area as we traveled along the shore line. Beautiful old and newer oceanfront properties along the route including the Castle... More

The Town of Essex is surrounded by marshes, inlet and harbors which meander along till the land finally allows a small opening letting water out to the sea. There is a long history of ship building here which is interwoven in the landscape. There is a huge portion of the coastline which is owned by the Trusties of the Reservation... More
