For anyone who lives in driving distance or is visiting New England, this is an experience not to be missed. I live in the area but never got around to doing it til the other day. It is a 90 minute cruise on a boat that sails (motors) smoothly even on the choppy fall day we went. The cruise starts... More

Unhurried tour of gorgeous estuary; free parking; guides gave just enough narrative to keep it interesting, but most of the tour was accompanied by a very pleasant musical soundtrack. A little tricky to get on/off since the floating walkway was a bit tippy but there was a railing and it was not awful. Just something to be aware of if... More

This was a nice leisurely cruise on Essex River which the Captain provided a narration along the 90 minute trip. The 90 minute trip was just long enough so that it was a nice trip, and we didn't get too bored. We used Groupon which saved us a considerable amount of money as well. It is normally $25 each, but... We really enjoyed this leisurely cruise out the Essex River to the tip of Crane Beach. The captain of the pontoon boat told us all about the nature and the history of the shore. We saw some beautiful birds and a few seals. There is a lot of colonial history along the way. The cruise lasts 90 minutes. The boat... More

The Essex River Cruise takes you on parts of the water ways around Cape Ann that you would not be able to see without a boat. The boat slowly meanders down the river and high tide channels and around islands to new age music which is interspersed with narrative from the boat captain. The narrative was interesting but there wasn’t... More

We loved this river cruise. We traveling slowly on the Essex River and for a very brief time into the ocean. You travel through channels of tall grass hiding so many birds! Our Captain was very well-informed and told us many local tales. Very relaxing trip. Yes, you might get chilly so do bring a jacket. I think the cruise... More

The Sunday am muffin cruise was so fun a while ago; I am taking kids and grand twins in August 2015 as part of our 50th. Annivesary week at Wingaersheek Beach.

90-minute river cruise with just a minimum of rockiness from the wake of boats that speed by (not enough to cause motion sickness in someone prone to it). Brought two senior citizens and it was easy on easy off for them. Port-a-potty in parking lot for use before, did not check out the onboard facility, but probably difficult for anyone... More

We expected a lazy river cruise, not open ocean so we did not dress as warmly as we would have for that. Unfortunately, the cruise moves quickly to the bay and everyone was very cold. Space blankets were available for use but provided little warmth and the crew provided some, but not very much narration. The environs were quite lovely... More

Been wanting to do this for years but just never got around to it. Finally got a groupon for two tix for 30 dollars (reg price 50 dollars for 2). This is a pleasant cruise down the essex river. Honestly, on a nice day the cruise itself can't be beat. At 90 minutes its about the right time, too. However,... More
