Perfect Sandy Beach

This is a great beach, it was huge, never once felt crowded. The sand was soft and never too much seaweed washed ashore.

We went here one day on vacation, but might not go back. It is a narrow strip of beach with a lot of people. The waters were really rough when we went. Kids really couldn't go in the ocean. There wasn't a lot of room for them to play either. There are lifeguards and bathrooms (porta johns). It is free.... More

Went there on a Monday in late July. Very nice beach which is why it's so crowded - and great waves. I would avoid parking in the big lot near Katama air park as that is the most crowded. If hungry go to the Right Fork diner or get sandwiches at Katama General Store.

Recently returned from Martha's Vineyard with girlfriend's and had the opportunity to visit this beautiful beach. My girlfriend and I prefer clothing optional so this was the beach for us. Quite a bit of a drive coming from Oak Bluffs but worth it. I agree with some of the other reviews, waves are choppy and at times rough, not a... More

Boys love body boarding at this beach because of the great waves. Water cold, but it is everywhere! Get there early to pick a spot in the summer! Also, a bit of a hike from parking lot to beach, so if you have any elderly that can't make the hike, consider a different area!

This long stretch of sand is beautiful and also makes for fun people watching. Be prepared to enjoy the strong waves!

Beautiful beach, but it was pretty breezy and rough surf with undertow. Lifeguards on hand, but I could only walk on the edge. There are also only port a potties to use for changing and restrooms. There was no toilet paper in half of them. There was good parking. It was a good place for lying in the sun, but... More

Clean and easy to get to on the bus. No food places, but a bathroom is a short walk from the beach. When you sit on the sand, the water comes very close!
