My wife and I were here for the performance, "Women in Jeopardy". The performance was excellent. The action on the stage by all the performers was enthralling. We plan to be back on the Cape in the Dennis area next year. We will certainly attend another performance at this venue. We purchased our tickets at the box office in the... More

this is old-fashioned summer stock theater with panache. you can never go wrong seeing a show here. the facility seems old, but it is comfortable and hearkens to a wonderful past. for anyone who loves musicals, this is a glorious venue. we go every year. also, for a lot of fun, take a tour backstage. see what it takes to... Have been lucky, and every year have seen a play here. The acting is invariably excellent, as this is an equity house - and we have seen some actors who have been stars on Broadway. Whether to go or not depends on whether they are playing something you want to see. Plays start relatively early (7:30). There are matinees on... More

I love the Cape Playhouse. Live theatre at it's summer best, and the Cape Playhouse serves it's theatre with a side of History. One of the oldest running summer threatres in the country. Come see Shirley Booth's Oscar, or learn that Bette Davis got her start here as an usherette among others. See wonderful off broadway plays in a quaint,... More

We saw "The Drowsy Chaperone" which was an entertaining play, very professionally performed. The historic theater is small but puts on impressive productions complete with a 10 piece orchestra in the pit. It was easy to buy tickets online and easy to find on Route 6A. I highly recommend it.

We saw The Velocity of Autumn, great show. The theater itself is quintessential summer stock, an old barn with rafters and a very cool ladies restroom! The seats are a bit uncomfortable, cushioned set but hard wood back like a church pew. It appears to be professionally run, and the detail to the set was impressive!

What a great place to see upscale entertainment in our own back yard. We are fortunate to have great access to it. The theater has character, old school decor and a great variety of shows during the summer.

I have been hearing about and driving by the Cape Playhouse for years but only recently attended for the first time. While it did not have a lot of the amenities we have become used to (even in your basic movie theater), it definitely felt like stepping back in time. There is a real history associated with this place and... More

Cape playhouse was at one time a great place to see a good play with known actors. Now it is an overpriced underperforming hall of the past. No or little air conditioning makes watching a play during the summer akin to sitting in a steam bath. There are other area playhouses on the cape just as good at half the... More

Dear JJApples, I wanted you to know that last year we replaced our air conditioning system with a new, powerful setup and it keeps the audience quite comfortable. I do apologize for the past seasons where the Playhouse could become uncomfortably warm. Thank you for your feedback. It can only help us improve. Best regards, Mimi de Quesada More

Aside from it's storied history and its charming architecture it actually has the only professional summer performances on Cape Cod. Most of it's offerings are musicals; the rest of the season is filled primarily with comedies. These are professional actors, directors and set designers and it shows. It also offers summer programs for children during the daytime.
