Our first time at the Cape Playhouse; an older building with bench type seating was ok; folks had warned us................the performance was quite delightful and thought provoking. Christopher Durang writes with an edge, a sarcastic and ironic perspective, and wants to make the audience a bit uncomfortable. These fine actors kept up with the excellent writing; we laughed and almost... More

Come to the Playhouse and you will not be disappointed. Comedies, mystery, drama, singing, dancing. Pick what you like and prepare to be amazed that this quaint venue on Cape Cod can host such talent. It is roughly like a barn but the seating is very comfortable with plenty of leg room (I am 6'1" and was fine) and air... More

We went to see My Fair Lady in this lovely old theatre in Cape Cod. For such a small and intimate theatre we thought the production values were really high and the leading lady had a wonderful voice. It honestly could have been the West End. It was a warm night so we had drinks on the lawn during the... More

Have been to a few plays this season. "My Fair Lady"was okay and brought good memories from the past. unfortunately, "Women in Jeopardy" was just awful. I actually felt sorry for the actors with such a poor script. I don't know who chose this particular play, but obviously had never seen it. The quality of productions has gone down the... More

It was my first time at the Playhouse....a giant barn of a place that has launched the careers of many famous actors and actresses and routinely brings Broadway shows and talent to the Cape over the summer. The play we saw was the premiere of Vanya, Sonia, Masha & Spike, Tony Award Winner for Best Play of 2013 (moderately funny... More

Love this playhouse, for summer theatre. My Fair Lady was just fantastic, singing amazing. my second play this season. Great summer experience. This production was sold out, so buy ahead. They offer children's programs too. Great outing to lower Cape Cod for an evening or afternoon performance. Goes until October!

My wife and I saw "Women in Jeopardy" which was a comedy play that debuted on the evening we were there. The play was funny and the acting was good. The point of this review is to comment on the facility itself. It is a charming, wooden theater situated on a large property with plenty of room for parking. The... More

My wife and I were here for the performance, "Women in Jeopardy". The performance was excellent. The action on the stage by all the performers was enthralling. We plan to be back on the Cape in the Dennis area next year. We will certainly attend another performance at this venue. We purchased our tickets at the box office in the... More

this is old-fashioned summer stock theater with panache. you can never go wrong seeing a show here. the facility seems old, but it is comfortable and hearkens to a wonderful past. for anyone who loves musicals, this is a glorious venue. we go every year. also, for a lot of fun, take a tour backstage. see what it takes to... Have been lucky, and every year have seen a play here. The acting is invariably excellent, as this is an equity house - and we have seen some actors who have been stars on Broadway. Whether to go or not depends on whether they are playing something you want to see. Plays start relatively early (7:30). There are matinees on... More
