Super beautiful beach in every way. Must have resident permit in summer. Great for long walks. Recent storms have changed size and shape, lots of erosion.

Lucy Vincent is the town beach for Chilmark. I have been going there for 30 years. You need live or be renting in the town to get on it. Then you need to go to town hall to get a sticker for your car or a walk on pass. Its complicated. Which is one of the reasons its so good.... More

Lucy Vincent beach is a terrific spot to spend a sunny day on the ocean. The surf is mostly gentle but one has to be away of rip tide at times. There is one area called "the cut" . . . it's at the far end and is a great place to go to ride the incoming and outgoing tides.

Our visit this June was relaxing, peaceful with just a few folks sharing our walks. It's best to visit on the off season.

Road my bike to the ferry at Woods Hole. Got to Lucy Vincent at 5pm but they wouldn't let me on the beach without a pass, which are issued from 9am-12pm at the town hall. This town is quaint, picturesque and has some of the most beautiful beaches on the island. If you decide to rent a home in this town make sure to go to the local Town Hall to purchase a beach pass for Lucy Vincent Beach. THis is one of the nicest beaches on the island.

I spend all my summers in Chilmark, MA and I can hardly stand to go a day without being on Lucy. Its the most beautiful beach, and its got a nude section, HOORAY!! If you are in Chilmark, I hope you can make time to stop by.
