I am not a resident of Chilmark but recently had the opportunity to Finally visit this beach. If I knew how truly beautiful this space is it would not have been this long to experience! Large beach oat grass grace the entrance; fine beige sand deep against surf, rippled at low tide. Clay cliffs and tall rock spires are the... More

I had the amazing opportunity to visit this beach with a friend who has a place on MV. This beach is accessible only to those holding local permit, so you technically "have to know someone" to get there. It was a very busy day on the beach, but still wasn't too crowded. The waves are such a blast, but the... More

The entire family from young children to grandparents loved this beach! It was totally worth the cost of the beach pass even for just a week. It wasn't overcrowded, the waves & sand were perfect and you can't beat the gorgeous landscape! We can't wait to return next year!!

This is a very pleasant beach for those lucky enough to have the required pass though we enjoyed the beach in October when access is not restricted. Wide stretches of soft sand which would lend themselves to sandcastle building for those so inclined. Very canine-friendly off-season but not sure about this when access is restricted.

This beach is STUNNING. Absolutely magical. The only bad part is that it's only open to the public off-season.

Our 6th summer in Chilmark/Menemsha. Private beach for residents/renters with beach permits. Lovely, peaceful relaxing, beautiful. Come almost daily for a couple of hours. Great place. Recent experience at guard gate not so great. Despite permit on our car they would not let us drop my wife off for yoga for an hour and then let her walk on to... More

If you are not a local or know a local that lives in Chillmark you won't be able to get onto the beach seeing you need a pass. The beach is decent. I don't think they drag out the beach nor do they clean off the debris like Southern states do. I didn't really feel welcomed. It is going to... More

We have traveled to Chilmark for the last few years as college friends have a family home there. The whole town is a quiet, peaceful, and picturesque place and Lucy Vincent beach is no exception. We are fortunate to be able to access the private beach adjacent to the public part which allows for even more peace and quiet, but... More

This was our second time in MV, but our first time on Lucy Vincent Beach as you have to live or be renting in Chilmark to get a beach pass. That said, this beach is GORGEOUS - so dramatic - its a nice wide, softly sanded beach with scenic large boulders scattered around and dramatic sandstone formations at the end... More

This winter did dramatically alter the beach. While it is still certainly private and beautiful, the winter was very brutal to the shoreline. The dunes that were at the back of the beach have disappeared. While the impact now is not great, the long term consequence could be quite severe. Despite Mother Nature's acts, it does still remain as a... More
