This is a very pleasant beach for those lucky enough to have the required pass though we enjoyed the beach in October when access is not restricted. Wide stretches of soft sand which would lend themselves to sandcastle building for those so inclined. Very canine-friendly off-season but not sure about this when access is restricted.

This beach is STUNNING. Absolutely magical. The only bad part is that it's only open to the public off-season.

Our 6th summer in Chilmark/Menemsha. Private beach for residents/renters with beach permits. Lovely, peaceful relaxing, beautiful. Come almost daily for a couple of hours. Great place. Recent experience at guard gate not so great. Despite permit on our car they would not let us drop my wife off for yoga for an hour and then let her walk on to... More

If you are not a local or know a local that lives in Chillmark you won't be able to get onto the beach seeing you need a pass. The beach is decent. I don't think they drag out the beach nor do they clean off the debris like Southern states do. I didn't really feel welcomed. It is going to... More

We have traveled to Chilmark for the last few years as college friends have a family home there. The whole town is a quiet, peaceful, and picturesque place and Lucy Vincent beach is no exception. We are fortunate to be able to access the private beach adjacent to the public part which allows for even more peace and quiet, but... More

This was our second time in MV, but our first time on Lucy Vincent Beach as you have to live or be renting in Chilmark to get a beach pass. That said, this beach is GORGEOUS - so dramatic - its a nice wide, softly sanded beach with scenic large boulders scattered around and dramatic sandstone formations at the end... More

This winter did dramatically alter the beach. While it is still certainly private and beautiful, the winter was very brutal to the shoreline. The dunes that were at the back of the beach have disappeared. While the impact now is not great, the long term consequence could be quite severe. Despite Mother Nature's acts, it does still remain as a... More

Lucy Vincent Beach is a wonderful beach for a long walk with your bare feet on the sand and in the surf. Facing the Atlantic Ocean to the south, this town of Chilmark beach is part of the western extension of South Beach that runs East for about 20 miles to Edgartown. The Wequobsque Cliffs that begin at the west... More

We tried to visit Lucy Vincent Beach, but got there at the wrong time of year, needed a pass to get on the beach, even to walk on the beach. Though the young lady at the entrance was very nice and helpful, she told us to go to another beach up the road (quite a way of the road) and... More

Great spot for locals since it is a beach restricted to residents. Some recent cliff erosion due to Hurricane Sandy and area somewhat littered, but overall a nice beach.
