My wife has been going to this beach since the 60's. Unlike Harding's, this beach is reached via a small wooden bridge which brings you to a great large shallow area for kids to play. The main beach faces the Nantucket Sound with water temps a bit more tolerable than the ocean beaches. Its a great family friendly spot with... More

This is a great beach for families with kids. The beach itself is lovely. There is an excellent snack bar and bathroom facilities (port 'o potties). The beach is at the mouth of Buck's Creek, which is tidal and lots of fun for exploration and riding the current. You can also rent kayaks, paddle boards and sailboats right there as... More

This is a great beach for kids. There are tidal pools where they can spend ages hunting for sea creatures. The water is calm and warm. The snack shack is great, nice atmosphere and decent food. The only drawback is there are no bathrooms, just portapotties.

Very fun beach. River meets the ocean and kids can tube/raft out to ocean. Lots of sea creatures to find.

Visited during tax free weekend. Staff charged tax on our $105 sailboat rental. When we pointed out that it was tax free weekend, first they said they didn't know if tax free weekend was in effect (hint - it was). Then they declared "we don't take part in that, its only for like flat screen TVs". Right. My guess is... More

Fun for family and kids. nice local beach with snack shack, kayak, and canoe rentals. Inland waterway allows for safe play for kids and paddlers. Open ocean beach is clean and has several outdoor porta-potties. Covenient to Chatham and Harwich off Rt 28. this can be a very busy place on a summer day, weekend or weekday. There is a... More

A little seaweed on the beach but my three kids loved this beach. Small waves facing the ocean and a great tide pool area in the marsh. Ride the current on the boogie board, collect crabs and small fish near the marshy areas, enjoy slightly warm shallow water in the tide pools. It was the perfect beach day for every... More

Great beach for kids due to shallow bay that is great for hermit crab searching. Kids had a blast with the fishing nets and playing with boogies boards in the shallow calm water. You can also walk over a few feet to the other side of the beach for rougher surf and more typical long, picturesque cape cod beach. Snack... More

My husband and I went down to the beach with our flashlights in the dark to pick up sea shells and see the sea creatures crawling around in the sand. Boy did I learn a lot !!! the crabs were nibbling on my toes in the sand. Cool!!! Saw a baby horseshoe crab shell, but it was dead. Got lots... More

Shallow, protected beach area and open ocean access. Good for all ages. Boat rental and snack bar available. Parking limited-get there early or midday to find s spot. Great ok r to really watch the tide come in. Nice teaching moments about seashore behavior. Portapots. Take a lunch and drinks as well as an umbrella if planning to stay all... More
