It was a very cold day when we went to the Lighthouse, but it was a lovely view and the beach is spacious. If it had been warmer we might have walked for quite a while. It's definitely worth spending some time there if you're beach-inclined, and the lighthouse is picturesque.

A great way to start the day is a walk along Shore Road to Chatham Lighthouse to watch the sun rise ... or really anytime, beautiful beach across the street.

Beautiful wide beach, great for walking. Dangerous currents, so not good for swimming. Parking restricted to 30 minutes. May be nice to take bikes in the summer.

Great place to view the ocean - the seals were out on the sand bar and could easily be seen through the coin operated viewing scopes.

The Chatham lighthouse is small and quaint, with a great overlook onto the barrier beach, which has undergone significant changes over the years. I hit this spot in all seasons, and every Easter morning for quiet reflection.
