The Malcolm Preserve proper is a small area with wheelchair-accessible pathways around a loop of meadow along Stearns Street. It is a good spot for birdwatching and contemplation, as well as a large view of the sky. Bluebird nesting boxes have occupants, and the old-field, pine and oak habitat support a variety of wildlife. The Malcolm Preserve is basically a parking lot with a trail that connects with the significantly bigger Estabrook Woods. The Estabrook Woods are beautiful with incredible foliage and streams. It is easy to get lost. The trails near Malcolm Preserve are especially confusing. I would recommend getting a map and parking at the Estabrook Road entrance in Concord. This portion... More
