We played the original 18 for some years after its 1985 inception as one of the top public golf courses in the US, designed by Silva and Cornish. The 36 hole expansion, dividing and incorporating the original 18 worked nicely. Given the amount of public play, the courses, Port and Starboard, are in terrific condition. $90 to play to the... This is a public course that is owned by the town of Brewster. A variety of rates are available depending on what time to play. Captains has two 18 hole par 4 courses side by side. Many people come and play one course in the morning and turn around and play the other one in the afternoon. Both courses are... More

Played here summer of 2013...course was in good shape and had some very difficult holes. Will definitely be playing this course again if I get back to the cape this summer. Pace of play was very good for a Saturday afternoon, didn't have a wait on any hole until the last few. The only bad thing I would say about... More

Well maintained course, great value, very challenging holes. Only negative was that we had to wait to tee-off later than our appointed time due to a backflow of golfers.

Played with a couple who were members. It was great that they helped us navigate the course. But being members and from obviously playing the course a lot, we felt very rushed. Tried to slow down the pace...after all, we were on vacation. Would love to go back and enjoy each hole.

Great family course - go after 5 with kids- they have kids tees set up on the fairways. We had a great time!

The Captains are municipal courses, and the Town of Brewster collectively wrings its hands trying to figure out why the two beautiful and challenging 18-hole championship courses don't generate more revenue. Surveys generated the golfers' reflexive response: speed up play. But, in or out of season and at any time of day, I've never been irritated by the pace on... More

We played the Port course, which is the tougher of the 2. Pace of play was ok - front nine was right at 2 hours, but the group ahead slowed down on the back and took 2:15. A marshal might've helped, but I didn't see any. Drink cart finally showed up on the back nine. Greens were good, and I'd... More

More challenging than I expected. Course knowledge would be very helpful. No one in our group had played here before. Some holes are rather tight off the tee. But no real trouble except being in the trees or short-sided.
