Not sure why, but it took two of us five hours to play last Friday on the Starboard course. And the two groups in front of us were threesomes. So it makes no sense. Teed off around 11:30. This should be corrected, especially paying $187.00 for two. However, the delay was the only issue. Course is very nice.

Starboard or Port course are both challenging for all 3 NCAA DIVISION COLLEGE GOLF TEAMS!!! Great conditions, well marked and very well run. The Head Pro all the way through the greens staff are nothing but great. The only problem and it's a picky one is the practice greens is not big enough for all the teams on it during... More

I play one or the other Captain's Course (Port or Starboard) each year. These are top notch public courses. Well designed and in great condition. Many of the other courses I have played in the area have had a lot of green damage because of the difficult winter, but this course was in great shape. The greens were fast and... More

I played the Port course twice last week and the Starboard once. Both were in excellent condition considering the recent draught. I found the Port to be absolutely lush. The pace of play was superb for a solo player.....relaxing, taking in the beautiful surroundings and the chance to use more than one ball for additional practice. I was so impressed... More

We played the Port because the Starboard was being aerated. The course is in great condition in September, the fairways lush, but there are small rocks in the traps that had to be cleared so I wouldn’t damage my club. It plays “long” according to my husband. From a woman’s perspective, the rough is tough to get out of and... More

I play here often and must say that the course is in the best shape it's been in a number of years. The Starboard is a little more flat than Port, but both offer a fair challenge. They could do a better job with the water on the course and the Pro Mark could be more friendly, but everything considered... More

I've played here quite a few times, I prefer the Starboard course over the Port course. On this past trip, we played both. Both courses are in great conditions, pace of play was fine, a little over 4 hours both days. The staff is friendly and the rangers seem to do their job without being nasty. Greens and cart fees... I played here last Friday with my father. It was the first time for both of us. It took 5 1/2 hrs to play 18 holes which is just outrageous! That being said the real bummer was the attitude of the cart staff particularly the ginger fella. My father who has parkinsons disease needs a cart to get around a... More

We played the original 18 for some years after its 1985 inception as one of the top public golf courses in the US, designed by Silva and Cornish. The 36 hole expansion, dividing and incorporating the original 18 worked nicely. Given the amount of public play, the courses, Port and Starboard, are in terrific condition. $90 to play to the... This is a public course that is owned by the town of Brewster. A variety of rates are available depending on what time to play. Captains has two 18 hole par 4 courses side by side. Many people come and play one course in the morning and turn around and play the other one in the afternoon. Both courses are... More
