The restaurant right on the campus of Jacob's Pillow is pretty good and worth dining at before the dancing...saves looking for parking too!

We went to the season finale with friends. This was a first time for my wife, son and myself, and the experience left me wondering why we've waited so long to attend a performance here. We saw the Aspen/Santa Fe ballet, a world class dance company. The venue in the Massachusetts Berkshires is a beautiful complex, with two theaters, a... More

Jacob's Pillow offers classical and modern dance. We'd seen much of the classical dancing that we chose the more creative this time. Their website has a good description of the content of the performances which makes it easier to decide what you'd like to see. My husband and I had salads from their cafe that we're adequate and quite good... More

The dance performances are outstanding. The grounds are available for picnicking, beautifully landscaped setting with rustic buildings. Pre-performance talks are very informative.

We started our visit with the free Inside/Out performance on the outdoor stage overlooking the mountains. Here the Jazz/Music students who attend the summer program (coming from all over the US and world) get to show their stuff. JP's resident teachers and renowned choreographers work with the young dancers over a 3-week period--and here in the beauty of a Berkshires... More

The beauty and tranquility of the venue provide the perfect setting for the explorations in dance that occur here. Casual performance spaces and dining/picnicking options remove the haughty formal feel attributed to most dance productions. Therein, how can one help but enjoy themselves here? The fact that the performances and the talent inherent in them are first-class only ices the... More

It is hard to describe what they do at Jacob's Pillow. Firstly, it is an internationally renowned venue for dancers to train and perform. From a visito's perspective, it is a fun venue to watch both free performances and professional staged performances. For the free weekend shows, you will see dancers who are there to learn from professional trainers and... More

Took us nine years to get here and wish we'd come sooner. We saw Circa in the Shawn theater and were blown away. Plan to get here for the 6:15 free exhibition, bring a picnic to eat at 7ish (food is sold on the property as well), see the pre-show talk at 7:30 (if there is one for your selection),... More

Grab a picnic dinner, go early to get a place to sit (there are some picnic tables and many wooden benches), and enjoy the majestic atmosphere of the surroundings while waiting for the dance performance to begin. There is no photography allowed, which is great because it encourages people to be more involved with the performance instead of with their... More
