Visited on a sultry summer day, gardens are beautiful. So many varieties, we particularly liked the scent garden & the rose garden. Took a ton of pictures, nice water features. Paths to walk on, benches in the shade to sit, a lovely place to spend some time. And then there are the butterflies! Tickets were 8.00 for adults, purchased in... More

Within the huge Wheaton Park is an oasis for people of all ages: Brookside Gardens. We were there today showing 2 granddaughters the Butterfly Exhibit and the surrounding formal gardens. While they are pre-teens, they thought that the Gardens were beautiful, colorful, and sneezy (didn't know that they were allergic to some of the plant life in that area). They... More

Beautiful in every season - Summer brings a Butterfly exhibit that is amazing. Winter brings a Festival of Lights and Spring and Summer bring mid-atlantic flora that is simply breathtaking. Master Gardeners give lectures on garden pests, how to's on container gardening and other subjects pertinent to amateur and professional gardeners. A must see for all.

Beautifully maintained all year round. Something is always in bloom. The butterfly exhibit is just awesome! Rose garden is spectacular! A wonderful place to walk, picnic or just veg out!

I didn't get a chance to explore the entire park but was able to visit Brookside Gardens. We were here to do a photoshoot for my 5-year old's birthday and of the family. I didn't realize how beautiful this place is. The gardens itself is beautiful where you can relax and just enjoy seeing all the flowers. I also like... More

Without question, this is a destination for people who love landscapes. A wonderful place to get informal portraits taken, or simply to air yourself out. Do see the butterflies. Don't try to see everything in one day. This is a place to absorb rather than explore beauty and peace.

Beautiful in every season! Stroll among the fragrant herbs, rose gardens, and more. Or spend an afternoon watching the ducks, geese, and koi. Be sure to enjoy the many varieties in the huge greenhouse, too! A lovely place for mind and soul.

A wonderful destination garden; largest in the DC area. It has a very good butterfly (enclosed) garden. It has a great staff. It also has educational courses.

Beautiful Garden Walk. I felt that it is just a pleasant walk. I would much rather just go hiking. This was just not for me. There are others that love it. To each his own. NO DOGS

It is hot and humid, but you won't find a better place to take photos of many types of butterflies. The butterflies can land on you or on the ground near your feet, so you have to make sure the little ones to accidentally squash them. The place isn't too big- maybe fit 20 people with room to walk around.... More
