We went with an 18 month old active child so we did not see more than about 25% of the garden. What we did see was impressive. It is very nicely laid out. There are a number of separately themed garden spaces. There are some interesting fountains and nicely laid out walking paths. We plan to return. GPS guidance was... More

Brookside is an amazing place with a great deal of bio-diversity and it is all free! Fantastic roses, tulips azaleas and trees of every kind imaginable. It is our favorite area park and has the additional virtue of being connected to Wheaton regional park with its carousel, playground and huge playground area. We typically come multiple times each year to... More

We went on the last Saturday in May and the roses you could smell even before you saw them! I don't know how many were in bloom but just awesome! There is no charge for the gardens and just know that one of the parking lots is being redone so go early so you can park in the other lot.... More

This park and conservatory has to be on the "must do" list for anyone living in or visiting Silver Spring or Olney area of MD! It's a beautifully manicured and serene formal garden with lots of paths to walk and fountains to enjoy. The Butterfly House is a joy to visit, there's a carousel for the kids to enjoy in... More

I frequently visit Brookside to get away from the busyness of this area and be at peace and think. The beauty of the gardens is breathtaking and allows a real appreciation of nature. I take it all in. When my kids were small we frequented the weekend activities and botanical garden which are great for small kids.

Very beautiful gardens with a huge variety of plants. There are several walking paths to take you thru various garden ecosystems. Primarily native plants but with a greenhouse to show some interesting botanical plants. Cost is free but donations discretely requested by a donation box in the visitor center.

Gorgeous gardens! We spent the day there with family. Its definately worth going on a beautiful day like we did. There is a nature center for the kids and tons to see. Wear your comfortable shoes. The grounds are huge and you will have to do a lot of walking to see everything.

I love both the conservatory and the amazing multiple gardens. Went in late April when both the thousands of tulips and the azaleas were in bloom. Just stunning.

Today we saw tulips just past their peak, wisteria wafting fragrance over the meadows, and azaleas fresh and bursting into bloom. It's always beautiful here. It's free and laid out with walkways, specialty gardens, vistas, fountains, lakes, and a children's area. It's always a great time out that nourishes the soul. An excellent day trip choice.
