Perfect way to get out on the water and to learn about the life on the skipjack. Beautifully restored all wooden vessel and Captain was an expert with great stories that gave reassurance to continued oyster survival in the bay. He gave a really good history of environmental issues in the bay and made it all enjoyable.

Bring your own sandwiches and drinks. Capn Wade is wonderful! He let my daughter steer the boat. He's been doing this for 50 years!

This was the highlight of our trip to Tilghman! We decided to go out, even though there was a chance of showers. Captain Murphy gave everyone onboard something to do during the sail...steer, raise the sails, etc. He kept us entertained and educated. We had to turn around a little early because of the weather, but it was still worth... More

What a wonderful sunset sail we had! Hands on fun while we were being educated about sailing, the bay and this skipjack were prevalent from start to finish! Captain Wade was so engaging with all of us on this sail. We learned so much and were so impressed by his work ethic and love of the bay and of his... More

The Captain is a true master of the seas and of crabbing, but most importantly a Chesapeake Bay conservationist who teaches you all about the ecosystem. This 2-hour outing was the best value for money, hands-down, of anything we did on this vacation. Go for a beautiful sail on an authentic Skipjack, and do it soon. The Captain, while still... More

We did the sunset sail and we highly recommend it. We sailed from 6-8. It was beautiful! Captain Murphy is so adorable and hilarious. He gave us the option of learning or sailing in quiet and we chose the education. He taught us about oysters, crabs, ecology and told us about his horrible wreck in a storm in 2000. You... More

I took the two hour tour with the Captain recently and it was a glorious experience. The weather was perfect for a great sail. The Captain was knowledgeable and amusing. Guests were encouraged to raise and lower the sails and to steer the boat. The view were serene and I did not want the trip to end. Next time I'll... More

We took a two hour tour and have nothing but good things to say. Captain Wade provides lots of great, local history and we had the sails up the whole time. We were able to help raise and lower the sails and steer the boat. Rebecca is a beautiful and historic boat and the experience is well worth the price.... More

We took a two hour ride (which actually ran for 30 mins more, the more the better) with the company of Captain Murphy and his beloved vessel Rebecca. Altogether there were 8 people on the boat and everyone had a great time. Capt. Murphy talked about crabbing on the bay, his life with and without the boat, the birds that... More

Sailing on the Rebecca T. Ruark with Captain Wade Murphy was the highlight of our trip to St. Michael's! Captain Wade is fun and interesting. Telling you his story as well as the story of waterman on the bay and the history of his beautiful skipjack. The boat itself is amazing and it was such an awesome experience to sail... More
