Because its so close to home, we have put off visiting and now I'm very sorry we did - this is a wonderful destination! First it's free, which is great, but you will want to make a voluntary donation once you see it. This is a self guided walking tour, with a surprising variety of animals for very young and... More

It's a great place to go if you have kids because it's pretty small and doesn't require that much walking.

Visiting the Salisbury Zoo is a great way to spend the afternoon. It is a small zoo so you can just take your time and watch the animals. It has free admission! There are two parking areas and one has a large playground and access to a park with picnic tables. There is a small snack bar and very clean... More

Though the trip from our home was about 1.5 hrs. by car, this Zoo is a pure gem. We took our nearly four year old grandson there for an outing on a very hot and steamy summer day recently. When we arrived we were pleasantly greeted by one of their staff, who provided a map of the grounds. The zoo... More

We live five minutes away and visit weekly as long as the weather cooperates. It's small, but it's free, and there are weekly programs for preschoolers. Bens Red Swings is an awesome playground at the end of the zoo if you have kids. There are picnic tables too but we find it easier to eat elsewhere because of the excessive... More

Very nice, clean and well laid out. Grandkids had a great time! Strollers were easy to push throughout park. I was very surprised that they don't charge admission. Many animals were not out due to the heat, but we still saw enough to show the kids. Would go again.

It was a hot day, so I was glad that most of the walkways have plenty of shade. It's compact, so there's not a lot of walking if you have real small kids along. The llamas and monkeys were my daughter's favorite animals.

It is well laid out and offers a nice mix of animals. Walking with a baby we loved that it had large areas of shade and many places to stop and see the animals so that not everyone is cramped together looking all at once

Clean, well kept animal enclosures. We visit often when we come to oc maryland and have for years. Never feels crowded, large area with exhibits spaced far enough apart so that all visitors can view the animals.
