Great tasting room where you can have samples for $1 each - wine is very good and you can buy bottles to drink outside

Over the 4th of July weekend our party tried wine tasting for the first time at St. Michaels Winery and it was really nice. The servers explained the wine types, flavors in each and what foods best accompany them when served. The cost for each sample was $1 and you received 2 sips in a wine glass which was enough... Wine tasting has become kind of an anniversary tradition for my husband and me. We always go to a winery, enjoy a tasting and usually a follow up glass, and then buy a bottle to be enjoyed the following year. We thought the wines here were incredible and loved getting the history and story behind each bottle. The woman assisting... More

Loved the wine tasting flight. You can do one for regular or sweet wines (we picked sweet) and discuss the pros and cons of each with the sommelier...it was as much fun as educational.

When in town for the running festival, my sister-in-law and I decided to stop by the winery. We had our dogs with us and weren't sure if we'd be able to come in and taste but they welcomed us (and the dogs) with open arms. There's even a sign on the door that says 'Dogs welcome, children must be on... More

Called first since we knew they were soon to close, and they said they would stay open for us to come by and taste their wines. Nice! We chose the $1 per pour since we wanted to taste their dry reds. "Joe" set up the tasting and it was fantastic. Every wine we tasted was delicious, especially their Island Beauty... More

Your St. Michaels experience begins here. We always make this our first spot to stop! Great wine and Great People, get a glass and sit outside their little reserved area. We always buy our wine the day we leave. A good thing everyplace is walking distance to the hotels then we continue next door for Beer Tasting.... you can't beat... More

On a friends recommendation, we stopped into Saint Michaels Winery to pick up a couple of bottles of their Chocolate Zin, and boy are we glad we did! It. Is. Delicious. So much so that we went back the next day and bought 4 more bottles to bring home with us! We also purchased a sweet peach white wine that... More

The only downside to this place is the cost of the tasting. It's $1 for each wine you want to sample. We had fun doing the staffs favorite tasting, which was $10, tasting 10 wines. Not big portions, but the wine was good.

Surprisingly good wine and a really comfortable tasting room with reasonably knowledgeable staff. The wines are made from Maryland grapes but not all are grown by the Winery itself. There's a good mix of dry and sweet both red and white. There's one surprisingly good red which while a bit [pricey was worth noting.
