Everything was perfect...the weather, the boat, and the captain! After reading the Washington Post article about Captain Ed, I thought it was time that our group of Baltimore friends learned something about the watermen on the Chesapeake. We were not disappointed! Captain Ed taught us about the history and geography of the bay and about the oysters and the environmental... More

We went to St. Michael's for our anniversary quick get-away and took a sail on the HM Krentz with Capt. Ed Farley. We were the only passengers that day and Ed was gracious in setting sail. It was a great time- Capt. Ed is a tale teller and has a vast store of info re. geology, ecology and marine life... More

We had a great day on the miles river. The captain was very informative on the history and geology of the area. It was great to experience the historic skip jack. You will witness how the skip jack's harvested oysters. Call the captain make reservations

This was a great experience. The boat was clean. Both the Captain and the Mate were very engaging and they took their time answering our questions. The only down side was the group of thirty year olds celebrating a birthday. They were more interested in drinking canned wine and themselves than the excursion. Once the Captain and the Mate moved... More

If you love history, science and geography this trip is for you. While enjoying a calm sightseeing sail your eccentric sailing sea Captain will wow you with his incredible knowledge of the Chesapeake and beyond. BYO drinks and snacks and hit the head before boarding.

Having seen a non-working example of a beautiful 70 foot Skipjack sailing vessel lying dormant on the grounds of the Maritime Museum imagine our astonishment when my wife and I found a fully seaworthy working example for hire later that afternoon. Plans for an afternoon sail were quickly put together with the result that we met Captain Ed Farley and... More

My family and I have taken this sail at least half a dozen times over the years, to the degree that Captain Ed recognizes my husband and older son when they go. This is the authentic Chesapeake, not the theme park version, and you will be sailing on a real working skipjack. Bring sunglasses, proper foot ware, a cooler with... More

We took a 3 hr tour on the Skipjack H.M. Krentz on a beautiful morning. It was chilly but we dressed for it. The sail was a great experience with great winds. The area was beautiful to view from the skipjack. Captain Ed was an encyclopedia of information on fishing and the area history. He was a wonderful host with... More

We booked a sail on the H.M. Krentz on a trip to Cambridge. Our family of 9 couldn't have been happier with the experience. Our captian, the owner of this oyster sailing vessel was a wealth of exciting history and fishing knowledge and provided us with a great day on the Chesapeake. You have to book online in advance and... More

We arrived in St. Michaels just before noon. Decided to take the 2pm Sailing as the winds were really great. Captain Ed provided so much information about the Chesapeake history, the skipjack and oyster farming. I would highly recommend this attraction, and look for the "winds".
