Tilghman island is found 'over the draw bridge' for a very relaxed, laid back area. Worthwhile to visit the Tilghman Watermen’s Museum for historical information and artificats/exhibits of the heritage and culture of the island community-specific days & times that it is open. There is a small park and picnic area next to the marina right at the draw bridge... More

For a family getaway as witness to the lifestyles of real watermen and families that live by the Chesspeske bay go to Tilghman Island Martland. Here you will see crab pots in the front yard next to oyster shell lined driveways. Workboats both in the water and in the backyard for repair. Surrounded by water on all sides the views... More

This is a well kept secret of the Eastern Shore. We visited when we were in Saint Michael's, and they've done so much in a short time. If you want to know the history of Tilghman, you've got to stop here and enjoy the Museum. Don't leave Tilghman without visiting Capt. Wade at the Rebecca T. Ruark, an experience in... More

We drove to Tilghman Island while staying in St. Michael's just to have lunch and take a look at this quiet and quaint fishing village. It was suggested that we drive all the way to the end to see the Black Walnut Point Inn, a secluded and gated B&B with terrific water views. Unfortunately the metal gate was closed with... More

When we visit St. Michaels, we always go on to Tilighman Island just for the serene fishing and oystering village it is. This time we stopped for breakfast at Two If By Sea. What a pleasant surprise!! It is like a old general store with tables where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. Stuffed blueberry french toast was what... More

A beautiful community and right to the basics of Eastern Shore life. Friendly, welcoming and scenic. Drive the extra 10 miles from St Michaels and enjoy.

If you like a totally deserted coastline, this is where you want to go. The waves break, smelling of salt and wilderness.

Lovely views, fishing marinas and charming types of subject matter if you are a painter. Had a nice crab cake and lobster tail meal by the harbor enjoying a beautiful sunset .

....in Dogwood Harbor...and you can book a cruise on one too! Best time to come is during the Spring and Fall for Tilghman Island Day and the Seafood Festival. Google the dates and come for crabs and oyster and the music of the Road Kings....wonderful local flavor that I hope does not get over gentrified.

We rented a kayak and saw many birds in the back creek area. Even in the heat there was a good breeze. It was not hard for newbies and there are harder routes for experienced kayakers
