We visited Running Hare for a tasting in December. Their setting is beautiful. The winery is set on top of a hill with a european looking building. The inside of the tasting room (more correctly, tasting building), is large and has plenty of seating if you brought a picnic lunch, which we did. They do weddings here and I imagine... More

The Running Hare has a great ambience, a rarity in our beautiful country area of Southern Maryland. Some friends asked me to join them for the New Year's celebration. I was looking for something to do with dancing, good food and classier than everyday. Overall, it was a great evening mostly because of the company I was with. The food... More

My group of friends and I recently visited Running Hare Vineyard in Prince Frederick, Maryland. It's a pleasant 1 hour drive from Washington, DC and the beautiful fall leaves made it a more scenic adventure. The vineyard offers $5 tasting that allows you to try 7 different wines from Running Hare's winery. Many of the grapes are imported from California,... More

What a lovely Italian setting to enjoy wine in the Southern Maryland countryside! You can sit amongst the grapevines under a Tuscan style villa with your own picnic. We picked a delicious wine to enjoy after a wine tasting and then listened to the live music provided. The atmosphere is so relaxing and you feel transported to an Italian winery.... More

Enjoyed wine tasting with very knowledgeable person along with live music. Had a coffee house feel of kicking back and just hanging. Bought the bottle of Malbec which is smooth in taste

Do yourself a favor-pack a picnic lunch and head out to Running Hare for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. The outdoor tasting room is lovely, the music sets the perfect backdrop, and the view can't be beat! There is a wine for every palette and the staff is quite knowledgeable. The atmosphere is perfect-this is one not to missed!

Wow, this place is spectacular! We purchased a Living Social for the vineyard thinking that it was somewhat local. Nope. You do need to drive to Southern Maryland to experience Running Hare. Oh well. The view upon cresting the final hill on the "driveway" for the vineyard is worth the 90-minute trip from Bmore. What a sight!!! The reception facility... More

I recently had my wedding here and can not say enough about the Running Hare Vineyard. Barb and her staff are fantastic to work with! The location is breathtaking and our guests are still talking about how gorgeous it was. I would recommend this venue to any bride looking for an outdoor wedding. It was picture perfect!

Running Hare wines may not be Napa-worthy, but they are getting close. We have been to the winery several times for tastings and music and every time, it seems like the wines are getting better and better. The whites are really good and great for summer picnics. But the best is visiting the vineyard in the evening when they have... More
