There is a little of everything on the Boardwalk: shops, eateries, amusement rides, bike rentals, and lots of people walking the boards. The Boardwalk is wide enough for the bikes, the dogs, and all the people.

The new Boardwalk is really nice. I really like walking the entire Boardwalk from the busy southern end to the quietness of the northern end and everything in between! Would go every morning to walk .Ca't get enough of it.They were replacing some boards and doing some painting near the inlletSo nice to visit in may during springfest before the big crowds arrive.On our last day we saw ponies on assateague island looking across from the inlet.
