Ladew Topiary Garden is an amazing display of gardens of all different colors and styles and the opiates are incredible. The tour of the house is a very informative way to start the self-guided tour of the grounds. Be sure to have someone point out the butterfly eggs in the butterfly house if you've never seen them before. Long pants... More

It's really tough to rate LTG as average, we spent alot of time here and there are some amazing sights. The water fountain is so pretty and the steps that lead up to a little hidden spot behind the bushes with a little table and chair. There are unkempt areas and you hear the traffic buzzing past. I did see... More

This place and history is magnificent. The topiaries (bushes shaped into objects/people) are fabulous. There's always something new to see each year. Ladew can be viewed in one afternoon, however, it's large enough to spend the whole day. Take a picnic lunch, take the kids, take your mom and grandma. Something for everyone. Enjoy the peace and quiet. Step back... More

You'll never tire of visiting Ladew Gardens. Open April through October it always seems fresh and new, given its wide variety of plantings and many blooming seasons. Uniquely divided into an impressive number of "rooms" (Rose, Berry, Victorian, Woodland, Iris, Waterlily, various colors, etc.) it encourages return visits of varying lengths over the entire year (members have access beyond the... A beautiful collection of garden "rooms" featuring different colors, light, and water features surrounded by extensive topiary. Plant diversity results in blooms throughout the seasons. Don't pass up the nature walk which traverses deep woods, wetlands, quarry pond, and open field. The historic home is worth the tour and it's where you can learn much about the remarkable man who... Very nice gardens and very peaceful/enjoyable atmosphere. Take a walk and enjoy every single moment. Great for a picnic or a romantic date. They also have a small cafe. Entrance fee is $13 for an adult. If you want to see the house too then the price is $18.

It seems that Mr. Ladew made a trip to Europe and liked the topiary. Most of us would have written home about it and stopped there. He added topiary to his otherwise lovely garden in number and inventiveness. Swans ride billows of boxwood. Horses and dogs jump hurdles--just as they do in the local upscale hunt country. Dogs stand outside... More

It's hard to believe you're only a few minutes out of Baltimore (no offense, Hon) at this place. I've spent most of my life in Maryland, and I had no idea Harford County was so beautiful, so give yourself some time to drive around the county while you're here. The hedges are amazing and the topiaries are wonderful, as are... More

We come here once or twice a year and it always makes me happy. The themed garden areas make it fun for everyone. The yellow garden is always perky and children will love the little stream that trickles through it. Everyone will love spotting and hearing the frogs in every pond and stream. My favorite spot is the relatively new... More
