I had driven by The Ladew Gardens once about three years ago, but just never had taken the time to stop by and see them. When I read in the AAA magazine about visiting a museum at no charge on September 28, 2013 and found that Ladew was on the list, I knew this was my chance. I was pleasantly... More

Ladew has much more than topiaries---though the topiaries are pretty cool too! Their concert series is super fun for all ages. Open air, food, great bands. Adult and kid programs and lectures are offered throughout the year. The gift shop is a hidden gem for unique gifts. Hands-down, the house and the history are the most fascinating things about this... More

We visited the gardens over Labor Day. There are the gardens, a nature trail, and a house to tour. The grounds/nature walk is $10 for adults, with the house tour it is $13. We arrived just before 3:00 p.m. and were told the last house tour was 3:00 p.m., despite their materials advertising 4:00 p.m. While waiting for the remainder... More

This was a day trip for me. Driving from Reston took about 1.6 hours. The last half hour of the drive is on a nice country road. I was impressed with the house tour. It's worth the 45 minutes it takes for this tour because it helps explain the garden. The topiarys were impressive and surprisingly large; however, I was... More

We've lived in the Washington DC area for over 10 years and finally made the trip to Ladew. We never realized how large or how nice this gardens was and I have been to many large gardens across the country. We were impressed by the extent of the gardens and the price was very reasonable for our large family. I... More

Me and my mom went for the first time. It was the best time. My mom is 72 and she walked and enjoyed it very much. She actually walked all the gardens. That should explain it all! The grounds and sights were so magical. We lived every minute of it. We took lots of pics. You aren't allowed to take... More

If you enjoy nature at it's finest, Ladew Topiary Gardens is the place to experience nature in all it's glory. Strolling through one luscious garden after another provides a look at many different types of plants, flowers and some beautiful fish. The Sculpture Garden defines the term Topiary with other examples spread around the grounds. Don't forget to leave time... More

Great selection of topiaries in a lovely garden. The hunt scene with the horseback riders, hounds and fox is really fun. This property hosts a steeplechase in the spring. There are outdoor rooms made from walls of shrubbery pruned into columns and garlands which are unique. These are located off of central gardens with fountains and waterlilies. All the different... One of my favorite places to visit. It's not far from home but just out of reach of all the commotion. There is always some subtle twist of natural beauty that keeps me coming back.

Visited LaDew Gardens on the perfect summer day. This gem is off the beaten path but worth the trip. Gardens are beautiful and well maintained. Recommend the Nature Walk( wear sneakers!) for a different view of nature. Trail is well marked and no steep areas. Also recommend the house tour for some surprising connections to English royalty as well T.E Lawrence.... More
