Good resort for fun skiing!

We've skied WISP a few times and it's always been pretty good conditions -- you can't help weather all the time. The resort is pretty well run and things go pretty smoothly.

This resort is a fun place to visit in the summer. The ski lifts allow delightful views of deep creek lake. The toboggan coaster was fun for all ages (small kids can ride with a parent). Each coaster has accelerator and brake so it's comfortable for first time riders as well as adventure seekers. There are two eateries or cafes... More

We were in Deep Creek this past week and when it stopped raining for three hours we went out to do something fun. the outdoor summer activities at Wisp were good for our group- ages 61-8. Grandparents took the chairlift to the top and enjoyed looking around- it's a little pricey for just a chairlift ride but they have zero... More

Ok so i was looking for a fun thing to do near deep creek and i come across the mountain coaster at wisp resort. But when i get there the line is huge! I overhear the workers talking and they said a cart had gotten stuck. So i look at the steep slope that you go up the mountain on... More

If you've travelled in Europe in alpine regions, you will be familiar with the concept. While this is built by a German company, it is definitely not like most of the ones that dot the Alps. For one, the sled is attached to the track; it does not give you the free run of a small halfpipe-like track. It also... More

Great for the kids and adults. The coaster is a lot of fun and also is the ski lift. Take the lift to the top and pack a lunch for the kids.

The Wisp offers a 1 hour segway tour for $54. However, they do not inform you that for 20 of that 60 minutes you will be learning about the segway and not touring their mountains on said segway. What a rip off! Plus, the helmets had hair in them. I would not recommend this overpriced place!

This was only my second season as a skier, so this is from a newbie point of view. I really liked that there is a pretty even distribution of green, blue and black trails. As I progressed from the bunny slopes, through the greens and onto the blues, I never felt like it was a huge jump in skill required... More

We made it out to this resort the day a big snow storm hit the DC area. Driving through the weather was an adventure well worth the powdery outcome. As an advanced skier I am usually bored at any mountain driving distance from DC but wisp had something for everyone including glades full of powder. The ski school was great... More
