This is the place to hear and view great bands and performances. The large theatre is beautifully renovated in Art Deco styling. They have an open dance floor for many bands. There are tables and chairs and a small cash bar. Upstairs the balcony has plenty of seating. There is a smaller venue as well. They get a variety of... More

Our last few visits have been to the Stolz Listening Room. It is a bit close quartered, but always a great experience. Comedy, Jazz, you name it, it always is a great choice.

Worse than many high school events. A sad example of an attempt at "culture". It is amazing anyone would waste the time to produce events of this quality and surprising that the performers aren't run out of town.

The Avalon Foundation has just completed its 11th Plein Air Art Event and it was the best one yet. Artists juried in from all over the U.S. and a few foreign countries competed for prizes in many categories. I would not have wanted the job that the show's judge, Kip Forbes, carried out so very well -choosing the winners in... More

If the Avalon has one of your favorite artists or shows playing there (which is rarely for us), you are in for an up close and personal treat. Parking is on the street so is not easy. The refreshments may not exist. The bathrooms are a trip back in time (in a good way) as are the many posters on... More

The Avalon Theatre is the perfect place for a great evening of entertainment. Their calendar is filled with a variety of shows throughout the year. We just love the historic art deco architecture. Lighting and sound techs are terrific. Their Stolz Listening Room is a smaller more intimate entertainment space with live music and comedy shows. It's the true gem... More

Beautifully maintained historic theater. My only complaint is that the seating could use improvement & ticket prices tend to run high.

I caught the Dupont Brothers at the Stoltz Listening Room. What a great intimate venue. Thoroughly enjoyed it, was able to talk with the performers at intermission. Great sound system, no problem hearing or seeing anything.

We went to the Avalon Theater to see a concert by Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Although we had great seats in the second row, we would also have been happy in the last row. There are no bad seats in the Avalon, due to it's small size. Performers seem to enjoy appearing at the... More
