worth every penny paid to get the train to take you up to Frostburg. Nice coast back for 18 miles. Fun ride. Will do it again.

I purchased tickets for for this trip as a birthday present. I t was a very enjoyable and fun experience. All the staffers from the people manning the concessions to the train conductor were pleasant and ready to answer any questions. The steam locomotive was great.

I rode in the Parlor car, but had a seat behind the ones in front of the windows. The trip length was just right at about an hour each way with a 90 minute stop in Frostburg. Also, beer and wine was available in the Parlor car. The carriage museum in Frostburg was free, and the turntable was really cool... More

We loved the ride from Cumberland to Frostburg, MD./ The scenery was beautiful and the ride was very nice. We were in a standard train car, but it is possible to get fancier seating. The last car on the train has a lunch counter. Downside: Frostburg is at the bottom of a very steep and long hill which must be... More

This train ride allowed you to see the natural beauty of the leaves changing colors. As the train rides toward Frostburg, you are given a lot of background information about about the area and the train. The staff was very nice. I can't wait to go back.

This was a fun family outing. You can also take a bike along on the ride up and ride down the paths back to Cumberland from Frostburg - a fun idea for good weather!

Purchased tickets in advance and picked them up at the station. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our only complaint would be the boarding process especially on a very cold morning as we didn't purchase reserved seats, only coach. Ride was very pleasant and staff was friendly and informative. Some of the cars do have a musty odor so choose your... More

We purchased the standard coach tickets which were all that were available at the time. Standard coach was the cheapest fare and it was just fine. Train ride and scenery was very nice. Nothing much to do at Frostburg Station except watch them turn the engine, which was a must see. Don't bother to walk up the 86 steps to... More

The train was very nice and made for an enjoyable trip up the mountain. It would be nice if they would develop the turn around area in Frostburg a bit more - it's a lost opportunity. Many who were with us did not go up to the shopping district because if you wanted to watch the train turn around, it... More

The train was jammed on a Friday. We were put in the last car with our bikes placed next door. The views were fine and the narration interesting. The seats were very comfortable. The best part is that the train take you 15 miles uphill. We got off and biked another 10 miles uphill through 2 tunnels and the Mason... More
